No he wasn't.

Brady sucked last year too.

Complete beast????

What in the eff were you watching?
 What a goofball. Here bud, now go watch the games too. Some of you are such clowns about the Tkachuk's.

Yep, the ones who rode the Hellebuyck wave the whole way, the ones who were invisible in the Gold Medal Game. You're probably too young to remember Hasek singlehandedly winning gold, nobody much remembers the other forwards on the team.
yeah, nobody remembers Jagr, the GOAT euro player of all time.......

So did Florida dump Manwich Sandwichvich to Seattle yesterday to make room for this deal?
They didn't have a spot for Mackie to really develop further and Zito tends to do right by players. The 1st round pick was also included in this trade, so the two trades are definitely related.

Even if this was two 2026 1st round picks Ottawa still does it. The fact Staios got more is icing on the cake. I do think it's a slight overpayment by Florida but the Tkachuks got their wish so they're happy.

Brady will do very well in Florida because he's no longer "the guy" to carry the offence every night. A big weight off his shoulders Im sure. Gets to play behind Barkov, Reinhart, M. Tkachuk, etc.

Brady Tkachuk wasn't even eligible to sign an extension until a year from now. So makes no sense why everyone would be asking when he's going to sign the extension he's not eligible to sign.

It's also been reported Minnesota made a big offer - likely better than Florida, but Brady basically said I want to go to Florida. He gave them 4 teams he would theoretically accept a trade to in order to make it look less like tampering, but ultimately he only accepted the trade to Florida as soon as they made the offer that he likely knew was coming.

If what Russo is suggesting here is remotely true it is a truly pathetic attempt at saving face from Brady, I'm sure more details will emerge over the next few weeks.

1 cup for sure if not two within the next 4 years. All guys in their top 9 would make their country's olympic team. Just blown away Zito has put together this offence all under the cap. If they get Hellebuyck too, just award them the cup now.

I think Evan Rodrigues gets traded to free up cap space to get a goalie.

A 37 year old just won the Conn Smythe while having the best playoff performance of his career in the process. He had more goals this year than his previous 4 playoff runs combined, which is 55 games. To say, for sure, with anything, is crazy.

Florida is aging, their entire defense is 30+, and they have no goalie. If they get Hellebuyck, he's 33, and has won one important game in his career.

Ok I was gonna say Gaudreau went to Columbus likely because he liked the place to raise a family. Not because he has family there which I wouldn’t cite Gaudreau wanting to go to Columbus for family reasons.
I thought he wanted to be in the US for his wifes career, who was an RN. Columbus was one of the options that lent itself well to that. Maybe I'm remembering wrong. To me, that's still family reasons

I'm hoping for Ethan Belchetz (LW) if thy keep the pick. They already have Yakemchuk and Hensler in the system at RD. Kleven and Sanderson are both young LD as well.

Ya I like Yakemchuk. Gustafsson would be a nice add as a matchup D down the line but it would be awhile. I agree Belchetz would be a good target, he's a potential unicorn.

I'd still be praying for Bjorck but if not Belchetz would be a good pick there.

When was the last time Brady was "the guy" to carry the offence? For sure he was gifted prime offensive situations but it's been a while since he was "the guy".

Anyone have any insight what the massive offer the Wild had to offer the Sens?

They dont have the picks, and outside of Wallstedt, no other big names really make any sense. I doubt they'd trade Faber, but if he was involved I guess it would both intrigue Ottawa and be big? IDK...

I think this is a great move by Staios. Brady only had 2 years left. If they were playoff bound at deadline 2028, Brady might stay, then they either miss or lose in the playoffs, and he walks for nothing. Or they trade him at the deadline and the return pales in comparison to this one.
But instead they get 3 1sts (including a 9OA) and a 2nd.

Besides, he may have requested a trade to Florida to play with his brother.
