Most dmen are going for market value. I think a lot of the defensive moves have been very solid. Campbell, Lovejoy, Hedman (re-signed), Demers.

I think it'll start to become a trend that teams that play in a State with no tax can offer less money and still get the player.

Makes sense for the players. I don't see an issue.

Great deal, for that cap hit and number of years I wish the leafs had gotten him. Maybe the fact the the Panthers are contenders played a factor.

Great signing!

I always laugh at all of those tweets that say "x team have now spent 100 Million in two days"

No they haven't. It's over the entire contract. They make it sound like teams spent that all in one day.

Makes me wonder where Schultz will end up

He doesn't have a lot of push to make more than 3m. There are just some damn good signings out there for teams. Forwards went for absurd prices. Dmen are getting very solid market value.

Florida looks poised to go on a deep playoff run next year. Some real good trades/signings lately.

The years where the Panthers were the laughing stock of the NHL are lone gone!

Good job, guys!

Teams that win Free Agency don't necessarily win anything.

Favorites next year remain the same teams who did nothing or very little: LA, Pittsburgh, San Jose, Washington, Chicago, Tampa.

Kind of surprised Dallas let him walk if this was all it took. Another great signing by Florida.

Not signing Demers 100% means Honka is not getting traded imho. Re-signed Demers long-term would've blocked Honka with Klingberg and Johns also playing RHD .

That's quite the blueline now with Ekblad, Yandle, Demers, Pysyk, Petrovic, Matheson and Kindl.

With four right hand shots, I wonder if they'll move Petrovic.

Florida's loaded. Forwards, defense, goaltending; they've got it all. Nice signing.

4.5M per is a good deal for him. He's a good #3 when he's on, but when he's off, he's pretty bad.

Florida's looking really good now. Their window will probably open in the next couple of years, I'd think.

Perfect summary of Demers. Good contract. Seems fair to both sides.

After how much the NBA spent yesterday... they're measuring straws.

Looks like sanity has prevailed on the 2nd day of free agency... Should see some quality signings from now on..

Good luck to Jason and seems like good deal for both sides. I hope Florida has the space to sign the likes of Trocheck, Huberdeau, Reilly Smith, Petrovic, Pysysk, etc. when they're up for extensions. I'm guessing they do.

I don't want to sound like "that fan" but it's really good to see the beach teams all really getting players and building solid teams. Your TB, SJ, LA, and Floridas are just all really doing well, IMO.
