Calgary got 2 players that will be UFA after next season. Both may choose to sign elsewhere.
Honestly I didn't know that Tkachuk was allowed to sign a 8 year deal when traded to Florida.
Okay this dampens this a lot
As a Leaf fan thank you FLA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
When does this ever work?Blues fans: "We aren't giving up any assets, we'll get him as a UFA for free in 2030-31"

I mean if he doesn’t want to he’s really easy to trade with that contract for a huge return. Calgary could even retain if they want to bump it up even more. Great value here for CalgaryThats bad imo i dont think Huberdeau stays in calgary
You need to have your hearing checked.Hearing Ekblad, 1st, and Bennett

You can spin this anyway you like...Anyone who says Calgary won this is out to lunch. Florida got a 24 year old superstar for two pending UFAs and a late first round pick.
That said, considering the Flames had limited leverage considering they "had" to trade Tkachuk and other teams knew it, they didn't do half bad. I was expecting the return to be worse.
Tkachuk will be the half the player he is now by year 5 of that contractAnyone who says Calgary won this is out to lunch. Florida got a 24 year old superstar for two pending UFAs and a late first round pick. Still has five years (six? depending on birthdate) of seasons in his 20s.
