I had a new found respect for Plekanec after trading for him. Guy was not only such a high IQ player but he gave it his absolute most every single shift. Wasn't the most talented guy on the team, but relentless work ethic.Pleks was washed up before the leafs traded for him. Bozo Bergevin brought him back so he could play his 1000th game in Montreal. Which outside Pleks family and Bozo-Vin, nobody cared.
He wants to win, and had the cache to be able to name his spot.Crazy, the team he decided to go to was the one that eliminated him from the playoffs twice, one series where he choked.
I thought it was more of just GMs just dealing didn't think much of it. But knowing Marchand, the captain of Boston, specifically requested to be traded to the defending champs that eliminated him from the playoffs in back to back years, that's kinda pathetic.
Come at me with your pitchforks, I don't care
Babcock barely used him in the pla offs.I had a new found respect for Plekanec after trading for him. Guy was not only such a high IQ player but he gave it his absolute most every single shift. Wasn't the most talented guy on the team, but relentless work ethic.
I understand that, but to go to the team that eliminated you in back to back years. One of the years where you can say, Boston choked the series ?He wants to win, and had the cache to be able to name his spot.
I watched that entire series for obvious reasons....but how did HE CHOKE?Crazy, the team he decided to go to was the one that eliminated him from the playoffs twice, one series where he choked.

Yea, should’ve gone to one of the teams that he didn’t feel that he had the best chance to win with.I understand that, but to go to the team that eliminated you in back to back years. One of the years where you can say, Boston choked the series ?
Lots of contenders to go to, could've asked to go to Tampa, Dallas, Colorado, Edmonton, would've fit well with any of them.
Just pathetic to choose the team that beat you 2 years in a row, especially considering you're supposed to be the captain. Weak stuff.
Question for Boston fans: assuming he's healthy, what line do you think Marchand would fit best on? I haven't watched enough Boston games to have a good understanding of his skillset, but as much as people are salivating over a Marchand-Bennett-Tkachuk pure chaos line [don't get me wrong, that would be AWESOME], I'm thinking he might fit better with Barkov and Reinhart.
Hope this isn't rubbing salt into wounds, but I'm getting really excited to see what he brings to the team now that I've got over the initial shock! I was actually pretty impressed by his presser: he was obviously upset to be traded but was really classy about it. And he seems like a great teammate - fantastic energy - and someone who would fit in seemlessly with our guys.
