U20: Five Nations Tournament in Zug, Switzerland (27-30 August)

Finlands roster... Could almost call it laughable. Sweden should beat them with 7 or 8 goals. No surprises here mr Hinterman

Well, looking now at the lineup against Swiss, looks like almost a completely different team travelled there....
That Czech lineup does look pretty strong indeed. Probably too strong for Switzerland. Could give Sweden fits though.

Still a very good team. Certainly stronger than Switzerland, probably better than Slovakia and Finland as well.
It is a good team for Czech standards. But we have a lot of healthy scratches or weird omissions. Guys I wanted to see included stancl, benak, Mrtka, Dvorak and badinka.

Most top Swiss players absent as well. Only 1/3 of the Meier's, no Braillard, Gredig, Reber, Forget, Körbler, Sansonnens or Muggli either among others. Somehow, thanks to Neuenschwander and Ustinkov, they still have a 1-0 lead heading into the 2nd.

Theres only like 4-5 semi prospects in this particular Finnish team. I do like Elias Huttu.

He was given too much space but still...very good stuff from Galvas. Impressive sequence, dancing across the offensive zone to eventually finish it with a nice shot.

2-1 Czechia now. Not surprising they managed to turn the game around.

Ironically, despite playing vs mostly older prospects, 2/3 goals in this game were scored by the two defensemen who went undrafted in the 2024 NHL draft despite being widely expected to go in the 2nd/3rd round.

Also, Niklas Blessing is horrible. Everytime I watch him he's completely lost. Somehow keeps on sneaking into those National Junior team rosters. I don't get it.

Useful bit of info, thx. That explains why they're absent despite being on the initital rosters for this tournament.
Who the hell does Reber think he is? Furthering his career and self-interest instead of playing for his country every chance he can get. Thats not what i consider commitment. There better be a ban incomming. Because I sure don't wanna see his communist ass on this years WJC roster.

First game today should be an interesting one. Not sure about the second.

Elijah Neuenschwander has been very solid behind that weak Swiss team yesterday but of that group of strong Swiss 06 born goalies he's the only one on the tournament roster. I fully expect the Coaches to split goalie starts so it's probably gonna be 05 born Tim Metzger's net today. Metzger is big...but that's about the only thing he's got going for him. Against such a loaded Swedish team this could be ugly.

Whats funny is that the czech went from a fully stacked defense to a very dubious one
They were excellent though. Overall much better than the forwards. Very efficient. They defended the slot like lions and they had an impact offensively.

Much different look on Czechia's defense today but result after 20' is the same as yesterday. Could be a similar game like yesterday. I always expected a close, tight checking game.

These rosters are something... Not at all what was nominated. No badinka in either game is a bit concerning. I know he's playing in Sweden but it is a bit odd that he never wears the jersey. Curious if we hear about him being cut again at xmas? Nice to see Petr get a point!
