U20: Five Nations Tournament in Zug, Switzerland (27-30 August)

It feels great to have a such a nice paper roster. Not saying juggernaut but it's solid and could be competitive. Galvas was shocking but now I'm prepped for the benak snub! I am curious how they deploy galvas vs the drafted guys.

They’re Final Four caliber now that Finland is having a rough patch. Goaltending the key and not taking bad penalties, which seems to hurt them every year. Have to figure a healthy Jiricek will be there as well. I wish Badinka was a 2006 so he could play with the 2007s in St. Paul in 2026.

Jiricek and kos are the notable omissions. Sale hasn't progressed like we all hoped so it will be scoring by committee. Or maybe sale is in for a monster season which would be nice!

Unlike some major U18 tournament, there will be cameras at all games of this tournament. You'll find streams that are both legal and free here:

There may or may not be geo blocking so you might need to use either VPN or the usual streaming pages but either way you'll all be able to watch if you wanna do so.

Didn’t watch the U18 camp but was surprised he didn’t make the Hlinka. He was pretty good in limited time in the J20 top-10. Any clue why he made this tourney and not the Hlinka? Was it by choice like Frondell? If not I would have taken him over Sjostrom (in retrospect)
He was ruled out due to a minor concussion (is what I’ve heard)

Thanks! That’s reassuring news. SIHF’s YT channel might live stream as well

I don't think the SIHF is gonna steam this tournament but we'll see.

Is Muggli hurt? Otherwise according to Fischers logic, he would need to be banned for the next two WJCs...

Muggli has been skipping almost all exhibition tournaments...for years. Yet nobody seems to care. But if Bichsel asks to join camp a few days later it's a problem.

It's not just Muggli who's absent though. Kids playing in NA aren't there either. No Lachat, no Gredig etc...it's a long list.

Well at least the NA guys have a valid excuse since they probably need to report for their respective camps soon. But what about that chump Muggli? I feel a real lack of desire to commit to his country. Doesnt he feel proud to (illegaly) wear the swiss crest on his chest?

But seriously, its exactly the same situation Bichsel and Malgin were in. Seems like if you are on Fischis good side you can just get a dispensation for anything and all is swell. But if not, he will fck you for the smallest infriction of his conduct code. Double standards left and right. The sad part is since he "won" another silver medal he is everybodys darling again and we can enjoy another 20 plus years of his tenure.

The hypocracy is crazy… But from what i‘ve read Bichsel wants to talk with the executives to lift the ban and hopefully this happens…

Why aren't Jiri and Ondrej on the roster? Still injury issues for both of them?

Would be nice if Bichsel could come back, but I am not holding my breath. Fischer seemed pissed of at the last WC throwing cheap shots at Bichsel when praising players with (in his eyes) actual commitment for the team such as Fiala. I think he, Bichsel, might have to sit out the whole sentance. And if he still wants to play under the wizards apprentice after being denied the Olympics and the home WC remains to be seen.

Absolutely, such a dumb move by Fischer considering Bichsel is probably our only promising player atm with a pretty good chance at becoming a good NHL player after the Meier,Fiala generation

Finland completely overmatched. 4-0 Sweden and the 2nd period only just started.
