You think it is manipulative to strike jurors with obvious bias?

Would it be fair to put 12 victims of Sexual Assault on the jury for these defendants?
It's a system that is inherently susceptible to manipulation, as you're literally stating and yet "disagreeing" at the same time.

Going by what's stated here:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/poli...r-hockey-sexual-assault-allegations-1.6741216

Specifically:

And:

It may have just come down to public pressure to take another look when the civil case had been reported. Perhaps there ends up being more to it than that, but as far as I can tell, that's what forced their hand.
I'll take it a step further.

And any GM who knowingly ICED these guys or signed them to a contract or traded for them needs to answer major questions. There's not going to be any plausible deniability to hide behind. Heads are gonna roll...and rightly so. Rumors or whispers? You better have dotted your I's and crossed your T's because the public is gonna want blood. This doesn't stop with these players. Execs are going to need to explain themselves.

And those other 3 players? Warning to them...they are going to find out who you are and what level of involvement occurred.

Hockey culture is in for a huge shock. Huge.

Even if no crime has been committed this causes great reputational damage. That’s what we are seeing now even before the verdict is made. What we are sure of at the moment is that there was group sex. But we don’t know whether it was consensual or whether it was rape. But what we are sure of is that the careers of 5 players have already been destroyed, regardless of whether their guilt will be proven or not. And Hockey Canada's reputation has already suffered. From this we can conclude that having a group sex is already a crime. But that's not true.
You wrote all those words without acknowledging what I said even one little bit.

Why would Hockey Canada pay this woman several million dollars if the consensual group sex you're trying SO hard to believe in is what happened?

I don’t think a girl who is intoxicated, naked and in an incredibly vulnerable position like she was can consent the anything.
Like literally anyone. Put yourself in her shoes. A bunch of drunk athletes are surrounding you in that situation and saying they are going to screw you. You think the easy thought in her mind is “I’ll just say no and they’ll let me go right”?

I wonder if the Flames will try to terminate Dube for material breach if he lied to them since it's now created a shitstorm in Calagary after they put out that tweet that he was leaving for "mental health" reasons.

I feel at least a couple defense teams are going to toy with the idea of throwing HC under the bus to reduce their clients' culpability. HC as an authority that told them to say this, keep quiet about that...That sort of thing. They will claim their clients were too young and insulated to know how serious the matter was.

Well, did he lie? Just because he was charged, doesn't mean he lied. A lot of people are not getting this.

READ. THE. ARTICLES. Her parents found her shaking uncontrollably in the shower at 5am that morning and immediately contacted the authorities and Hockey Canada. Her first "consent" video includes a player saying "say it" in the background as she wipes tears from her eyes. Both of the "consent" videos were taken after the incidents had already occurred. Hockey Canada leaked her identity to the players so that they could pressure her to make it all go away. There's lots of verifiable info out there that casts their actions in a hell of a lot worse light than you're making it seem.
I actually didn't know a lot of this info and have been following this thread somewhat closely. Thank you for sharing - quoting you for additional visibility

First of all, I'm not trying “SO hard” to believe in anything. I was not in the room and did not hold the candle. I am not a judge to judge someone especially without knowing all the details. As for Hockey Canada, I have already explained, but it looks like it’s YOU are the one who “wrote all those words without acknowledging what I said even one little bit”. Ok, I'll repeat it. Sometimes it is more profitable to pay millions so that the information does not become public and you do not lose TENS of millions. Because when the hype starts, you lose these tens of millions even if the truth is on your side. Therefore, payment for silence is not an admission of guilt.
P.S. Please don't make me a player's advocate because I'm not. I just hate it when people put labels on others. If the court finds them guilty, then they are on their way to jail.
