Find out something you can do with Alexis Lafreniere. If that's hurting the first line to bring back the "kid line," if that's putting him with plugs and saying you make yourself the top dog, we'll give you guys ice time, Carp will be a responsible veteran and Julien will crash the net. Something.

I don't think the lines are the problem but they clearly aren't getting enough out of this player.
And when you can revolve all your tactics around getting more from one player I don't know why you wouldn't, amirite?

Horrible loss, worst of the season

Cant give up a 2 goal lead on home ice against the Isles when you need the win, bad.

I didnt like the Rangers puck management at all in this game. Waaaay too many giveaways and unforced errors.

Complain all you want about the Kakko non-call - but they immediately gave the puck right back to the Isles which lead to the goal. A microcosm of their game trying to exit out of the zone.

Not enough support, not enough on the forecheck, not enough of everything especially in the third.

They are too skilled to be a marginal team. Theyll turn it around. Just need to hope they dont wake up too late.

They're not relying on their goalie to bail them out every game. They've been the better team in virtually every game they've played. The fact that Igor and Henrik were NEVER EVER allowed to be criticized is one of the most maddening aspects of this board. The guy has been a big fat zero all season.

He hasn't been great but cmon a 910 SV% and 2.58 GAA after this game. Those are pretty average numbers.

Igor has been average. That’s the real problem. The D could be cleaned up but overall the skaters have been better than they were for most of last regular season. The team in front of him has been good enough to have a better record than they do.

It’s not entirely Igor but he’s just been average and as a result the team has dropped some close games that they could’ve won. That’s the margin of difference right now.

Obviously we’re all mad but it’s not like we’re getting outplayed every night and boat raced. We’ve arguably been the better team in the majority of our games this season.

He needs to be better.

We should see whether there's a chance we can swap out this version of Laf for the one we had in the playoff...

Before I start wondering if Igor is just shell shocked leading up to this point - I still like him having a minimum 30 shots if not 35 shots a game. He seems to stay more dialed in with a heavier workload.

He needed to stop some of those tonight, he knows it and is clearly wearing it. How strong is he mentally to get out of this is the question.

Is there any way to split his stats on games over/under 30 shots? I'm legit curious on whether that's just my perception or not.

The Rangers will get into the playoffs no problem once Igor is back to being league average and the team overall shoots at least at a league average rate.

Takes in here are ridiculous. That was as dominant a performance, across 60 minutes, as we've played this season, including the Tampa game. Atrocious officiating and bad goaltending lost this game. I can't believe you guys think that was a no-show, no effort performance. We came in waves, every line played hard, won battles, got to the inside, and created great chances. The Isles could barely do anything in our zone the few times they got there. We had a goal that got overtuned for why?

What a joke.

Igor needs to be better than this. Martin Jones has been better than him this season, AINEC.

Biggest issues are Trouba and Mika.

Trouba in all facets has been horrible.... absolute dog water

Mika is useless 5v5. Makes me want to break my tv when he forces pass to Kreider on the PP
There are plenty of guys who have had less than stellar seasons so far but Trouba has been the worst player on the team. Absolute dogshit all year.

910 sucks man that’s not getting u into the playoffs in this day and age. What did we drop to? 27th in the league in 5v5 save percentage? That’s garbage

They controlled play for 2 periods. I just don't know where their fight is for the 3rd. Last year 3rd was our best period.

Also, Igor has to come up big in the third. Too often the Rangers are in 1 goal games but have double the shots. He's no Hank.

Also, more players like Trocheck. Less like everyone else. Especially panarin.

I agreed with you until the last paragraph. 29th in the league in shooting percentage and getting worse...
I don't think they are good at goal scoring 5on5.

On the PP, sure, yet that is not causing their issue. 5on5 14 games in, they only have 4 players who have scored more than 2 goals. Panarin 4, Kakko, Chytil, Fox have 3 each. I just don't see where the goals are going to come from unless those players and maybe Kreider, Kakko or Laff somehow become way more lucky.

Worst loss of the season easily.

You just lost last game while having a 2 goal lead on an opponent who was on the second night of a back to back and you come out and do the exact same thing the next game. That’s pathetic.

That non call that led to their 4th goal after a bullshit call gave them the PP to tie it were both terrible but that’s not a good enough excuse. This game should’ve been a win. This team thought they had it wrapped up and took their foot off the gas. Gifted the Islanders a goal 14 seconds into the third. Wtf. Atrocious performance.

Igor hasn’t been good enough. Trouba has been terrible. Mika is borderline useless 5v5. PK has been brutal. Not good enough all around.

Idk what needs to happen but something needs to happen inside the room. Seems like the majority of the issues are mental.
Add to that they're not getting any offensive contribution from any permutation of the 4th line. There's no secondary scoring when the top guys don't get it done at 5v5. Chytil will provide some but he missed 6 games.

The problem is that it wasn't for 60 minutes.

Professional goalie that's one of the smartest analysts on TV: Igor should have had goals 2 and 3.
