Shark fan here, but I'd love to see Marty succeed with you guys. Love watching an underdog stick it to the man. Rangers are definitely my favorite team in the East now. (It helps that I lived in NY for several years too :)

Also because he's in a role that really isn't suited for his game, at least not at the moment. He seized the first line center role last year, but he has regressed to his 2C form - and he is being put in the role of 1C. He's still a solid player, but people make it as if regressing automatically equals bad, which is stupid.

He's also playing against tougher opposition this year and doing a solid job defensively against them.

Unpopular opinion, but i'm fine if Derek Stepan is our 1C. If he's our 2C we have somebody akin to Toews on the team and are likely perennial cup contenders.

Stepan-Nash
anybody-MSL

that's a very good 4/6 of a top six. Considering we have another top 6 RWer in Zuke on the team, too, i'm thrilled with the potency MSL brings to our top 9.

Yeah, I am fine with Stepan at 1C. Not particularly thrilled at the moment, but not too much to complain about outside of not having dynamic skill. He's smart, is a very good passer, and has a sneak good shot when he actually has the confidence to shoot the puck.

If he can regain his form from last year, I'd be thrilled with him at 1C. He's been playing to that level the past few games.

I don't know this anybody. Unless you mean anyone who play with MSL will be a very good top 6.

I meant "anybody between Richards/Brass" really, but honestly I think MSL is good enough that you put Miller with him or something and that's still a good tandem. MSL is indeed that kind of player.

He is a good diver

Backed in Franzen got the interferenve call. Kyle Quincey push i. The back and St Louis did Floppy bird. Lol. The commentators didnt saw the dive. But watch it again He just jumped up and flapped away. Crap

I miss the captain

Because MSL's diving brought back memories of Cally?

The captain who was quite the diver himself?

I think he's looked really solid so far, and I love how he's always fighting to find open ice. Those little one-timers he takes from the slot are sexy

While his traditional stat line has been disappointing (0G, 1A and -1 in three games), his on-ice play has been fantastic and it really shows in his possession numbers (66.7 CF%, +10.0 CF% rel.). If he keeps this up the goals will come and then some.

He was excellent on Wednesday, can't comment on Friday since I didn't catch the game but he obviously had the great pass to set up the winner, and I thought yesterday he was pretty quiet. Didn't really notice him outside of the two penalties the Wings took against him. Hoping he's able to get his first goal soon just to get that out of the way.

If there is anything I learned from the Rangers its simply that putting certain players on our team doesnt make us better. You cant add a sniper and assume hell score the same or more goals on our team in our system. You cant add a playmaker and assume hell just rack up assists.

Watching last nights game was horrific. All 5 guys line up around the boards and tried to make fancy plays. Half the team seemed asleep.

St. Louis himself had a horrid game.

What is causing this? I assume preparation. I assume coaches.

It's the playoff push, there's no excuse for last nights lack of effort. That's on the players, they know the situation, they see the standings. Again, this goes back to the so called core. They're not good enough to win it all.

I am just mad that after all these games that AV doesnt shape the line ups a bit.

One game one line plays great and all 3 other lines play invisible. It changes up next game and the next. Then against Carolina we have all 4 lines looking invisible and shaky.

I want to see next game

Kreider Richards St. Louis
Zuccarello Brassard Nash
Hagelin Stepan Pouliet
Miller Moore Boyle

Defense needs to be shaken up too. Put Diaz in

Its the cores fault that St. Louis took it in the right wing and stopped at the hash marks. Looked up, attempted a pass to his defender on the opposite point where clearly a opposing Hurriances player was in the lane and if not for McDonagh's speed that would have been a break away?

I believe it was an exaggeration but last night's announcers claimed that we had 30 of those type of down the middle passes.

Yea, you can blame the players. But when I see 80% of the team making mistakes like that it seems like positioning. It seems like plays that coaches have them work on in practice, to a degree (the set up at least).

I am not the biggest fan of dump and chase but there should have been more of it last night and its not the players fault for sticking to the "game plan" of possession and quicker break outs.

Not for nothing guys... In any sport, when you beat a team 9 times in a row, you know you're due for a loss, and it could be an ugly one. They only had 25 shots last night. I'm sure they are well aware how they played, they need to worry about the next game in Minnesota.

Also, anyone else noticed Kreider, in more than one game, seems to not be getting the minutes? I know he's not special teams, but kinda weird when it's the end of the 2nd and he had around 5 minutes of ice time...

I think that MSL is going to break out on this road trip. They need to find the right linemates for him. I had to fly through the game quickly last night because I had a game of my own but I think its gonna come soon for him.

It was St Louis's worst game for us, but to be fair most of the rest of the team was just as bad.

I know four games is a small sample size, but we paid a premium to have St Louis here the rest of this season, and the rest of the season was only 20 games total at the time of the trade. Time to produce.

It will be an absolute disaster of a trade if they do not make the playoffs. You can't sacrifice the future for the present, and then have the present turn into nothing.
