Not to open this can of worms again, but you'd seriously want Callahan for 6 years at north of 6 million scoring 35-40 points and playing middle six ES minutes? And you want to trade prospects from our already shallow prospect pool to make your proposal happen?

Blows my mind.

I get that St. Louis has had a rough start, and I want Sather gone as much as the next guy, but I understand why Sather did the deal. We gave up 20 games of Callahan and draft picks for a top 20 player in the league. St. Louis will find his groove.

It blows my mind that people are completely OK with giving up a 1st and a 2nd for a 39 year old that at best will push a mediocre team to slightly above mediocre.

This move is the epitome of short-sighted and terrible asset managment.

The Rangers could put together a line of Zeus and Jesus Christ centered by Sidney Crosby and it would somehow turn into an epic fail.

Most likely being Crosby's fault.

Jesus is washed up. Hasn't been an elite talent since 33 AD.

Those hand injuries really killed his playmaking ability.

Time for my peeps in the St Louis trade thread who insisted this is a great trade because St Louis is 'the best winger in the world' to chime in. I know seven games is a small sample (though not so small when you consider St Louis's entire season this year is only 20 games), but I'm not seeing the best winger in the world out there. Not even close.

I'm sure St Louis is going to score some at some point, but a couple of people do owe us an explanation! You know who you are!

It's been seven games.

When do people realize it's not the players but the franchise that's rotten.

St. Louis, Richards, Nash, Gomez, Redden, Drury... Many more players I can name who didn't deliver on Broadway...

The only big player who performed, is Jagr.

7 games. Just 7. And he hasn't played bad. He set up Zucc on the doorstep on sunday. He set up the GWG in winnipeg, a much needed win. He is getting chances. The goals will come.

Your right because 7 games means MSL will not deliver here.

Richards first year the team goes to game 6 of the ECF. Nash has been here for 1 year practically.

Didn't say he was bad. And like you I said he will score. I said he's not the best winger in the world, which was a disagreement I was part of in the trade thread.

I want to say can't hit the water in the ocean. the shots he's missed or came so close on always went in on us when he did them, that's why I'm miffed.

I doubt anyone seriously called him "the best winger in the world" but the fact of the matter is there are no winners and losers after 7 games.

Ya, he did - those exact words. And he had support. That's the only thing I'm challenging.

It's not about winners and losers, more about people who most likely watched St Louis play only against the Rangers, saw that he won the Art Ross last year, and it made them feel good to call him the best winger in the world.

Now that it's been seven games this person has probably seen St Louis play more the last two weeks than he did the last three seasons combined.

Sounds like you agree with me.

It's probably not in your best interest to specifically call out other posters here.

He's a magnificent player and will be until the day he retires, but clearly not the best in the world. If someone did indeed say this, let them have their opinion, because the argument that you're resurrecting is kind of petty IMO.

What's funny is Zuccarello had similar issues when he started with this team. The players here are not used to playing with a player who sees the ice the way MSL does. It takes time to become aware of the little plays he is going to make.

We sacrificed the future for two playoff years with St Louis. If we don't make the playoffs one of those two years, the trade is that much closer to being a disaster.
