I was at the game and I am so, so disappointed.

What is shocking is the Jets had a chance in the last 48 hours to take a strangle hold on the SE division and virtually lockup a playoff birth.

They came out with no killer instinct, no professionalism, no urge to nail the coffin in a team they could have finished.

When that happens in two straight games; its coaching.

Someone should be asking that question among Jets management.

The best entertainment of the night were the sarcastic jibes from our section, all night long. There were a couple of guys that literally did not stop for the entire game, excluding intermissions of course. On the plus side, most of the cars in the parking garage were gone by the time we got there! We stayed to the bitter end.

You can tell how poor the effort was and how disappointed the fans are , almost zero interest in post game thread. Understood though , the game tapes should be burned.

He was a section over from me. Friend near there said he was berating the Jets on how bad they were playing, along with many swear words.

Funny part is, he was totally right.

whats with the fan yapping over the bench glass ?
scary

I've been around a while, watched a lot of TV hockey and seen a few games live in a number of NHL rinks, but I do not once recall ever being made aware of a fan coming down to the bench and raising **** over the piss poor showing of the home team. Wonder if he wanted his money back and betcha his wife gave him hell when he got home. He'll probably regret it in the morning but if the Jets showed half the passion he did, they'd win a lot more games.

You're trying to find a humorous spin to lighten the post-game mood, but there is a fundamental problem in a team that scores one goal over those two games.

If the system/gameplan isn't working, adjustments have to be made mid-game...and that's up to the Coach to actually coach during a game. So its not a joke, its a valid criticism of obvious failure.

Did I miss anything?

My math is brutal. Thought they had 34 points for some reason.

Did you ever answer the question : You said Curtis Lazar was worth the 5th ( or so ) pick overall correct?

And this :
Worst move:
Drafting Mark Scheifele over Sean Couturier, who was picked by the Flyers on the pick...

?

Meh.

Oh well. I've been happy with the season thus far because I had no expectations going in. Frankly, I had no expectations because this roster is weak and the franchise has pretty much zero organizational depth. That will take a few years yet to repair. They are probably several years away from serious contention - even if by chance they make the playoffs this year.

Just took a brief read of the GDT; a few of you seem to be perhaps a bit too emotionally invested in this team. They're actually doing fairly well this season considering the roster. Not sure about all of the the doom and gloom; the converse view is that this group is probably overachieving as it is.

From the GDT, sorry about this. Was directing this towards the CBC broadcasters, not anyone in the thread.

*Hank slinks away embarrassed*

I'd had a few drinks by then so I was just like..

Pretty much agree with this.

However you are playing at home , have your self in a position to really push for the division and you have back to back efforts like this?

That , regardless of the depth , here , organizationally or over achieving , that is disappointing.

I didn't read the GDT, did you guys notice how many times they left Ovechkin all by himself in that spot? Other than the two times he scored from there that is. There were quite a few times he didn't have anyone with 10 feet of him, which is just stupefying. I could have scored on the Jets from there with zero pressure and I don't have 1/100th the skill he does.

Funny you mention this because I brought it up while at the game just moments before the 6th goal. He had half the rink to himself. All the caps had to do was get him the puck and it was a certain snipe.

Been listening to 1290 and they say you can't hang this on Pearn. Well if you look at it right now your PP is 27th and PK is 26th in league. Even tho the pk has improved during the winning streak it seems to be falling apart in the last 5 games. And the PP has not been good at all this year. So they could hire me and get the same results.

Anyways if those numbers don't improve. you can wave goodbye to the playoffs.

I just got home from the game. And I don't really feel that down. When you have just witnessed something so atrocious you kind of feel numb. Could be worse my brother took his family of 5 to the game, with trinkets and food it probably set him back a good $ 700 - $ 800.

Please God let Enstrom come back and never ever let Jokinen play the point on the PP...please :help:
