Haha, keep forgetting that Jay Onrait spent some time in Winnipeg. Dropping the names of some local haunts (Palomino Club, Toad In The Hole, Tijuana Yacht Club, Papa George's) for the Caps-Jets highlights. Cool.

Jets played like they stayed out to until 3 am and thought they could hit up Papa George's for some drunk pizza and gyros. Found out it shut down and had to settle for drunk McD's breakfast, clearly an inferior choice for limiting hangover symptoms. That's my explanation.

What highlights did you see, I got none of the place name dropping.

Man that was a another turd worthy effort.

When is Peluso going to be healed up, even if he cannot cave someone face in for a bit some solid hits and energy is needed...considering Joker could have been knocked over and off the puck by an old Baba with a walker this evening.

After the 2 losses, we're in real trouble, playoff-wise. Counting PMGP (Points Minus Games Played), we're in a dead heat with Carolina and the Rangers. That's 3 teams vying for 2 playoff spots... 7th/8th/9th. If Washington squeaks into the playoffs at the end of the season, and we're only a couple of points behind, this double-header will be looked back to as the killer.

we really need to bolster that second line. kane looks like hes out there by himself half the time

i dont think were as bad as these past two games. but were not going to go far with one line consistently producing points

the llw line is great... i actually think the 3rd line is doing really well considering... once peluso and slater are healthy i think we have enough random pieces to put out a decent enough 4th line.... but the second line is a mess. we need more production... and weve tried many things... the solution doesnt appear like its going to come from within our roster or organization.. were going to have to make a move

sad thing is the deadline is prob the worst time, everything will be over priced. but we need to do something. kaner needs help.

So, what happened to us having a home ice advantage? I kinda enjoyed that last season.

There's no advantage because, if the other team scores first, the 15000 at the home game are less supportive than the 2000 traveling fans at a given road game in e.g. Florida/Tbay/Ney York etc.

The book on the Jets is to score early and trap. Sucks the life right out of MTSC. Doesn't help that our PP is a momentum-sapping disaster - I mean, we'll have some momentum, some pressure in the offensive zone, draw a penalty and then it's 2 minutes of Jokinen fumbling with the puck away and no one being able to complete a pass or create a scoring chance (well, no one on the Jets, anyway). The team and the crowd just sag.

Well....

I thought Tangradi and Cormier played pretty well. I'd like to see more of them, either with Burmi or Wright. But they're not going to pile up the points. Welly, there's a seat in the press box waiting for you.

I hope by the end of the season we've learned something about this team because right now, I can't figure out ****.

Except, that we have to keep building the prospect funnel and not deplete it at the deadline. We may still be a middle of the pack team, but we are not a contender for anything yet. One or two acquisitions at the deadline won't change that either.

Bye bye Big Ron, I'll always be a fan.

Sure the boys stunk it out, but its not the end of the season. The Canes don't have their top 2 goalies right now, we can put some space on the Bolts on Sunday, we don't have to play the Caps at home anymore this season, and the Panthers lost the Jet killer for the year. Man up, move on, and look forward to Hainsey's birthday/Bolts game on Sunday.

The best entertainment of the night were the sarcastic jibes from our section, all night long. There were a couple of guys that literally did not stop for the entire game, excluding intermissions of course. On the plus side, most of the cars in the parking garage were gone by the time we got there! We stayed to the bitter end.

Where did you park? There weren't that many empty seats when we left at the final buzzer. Saw lots of Jets jerseys throughout the downtown, as we decided to stick around after the game.

I'm stilled extremely pissed about this effort we got from the Jets these last two games. The fact that they handed 4 points to a division rival is what really gets me. You can't do that and expect to make the playoffs, especially at this point in the season.

Just when you think this team is finally getting it they lay a complete turd on the ice (home ice at that) for everyone to start second guessing them again.

The Jets outshot them 31-24. You'll never win a game with .75 save percentage. It was one was one of those nights where everything went in. Sure we were outplayed, but I don't feel the final score was indicative of the game.

We always park in P2 of Portage Place. I'm not sure what you saw, but the lower bowl was half empty when the final buzzer sounded.

well that was a stinky pooper of a game...

Man, watching the game live it sure was frustrating at times. There were (many) occasions where we'd gain control of the puck in our end, and I'd think "OK now lets go, get it moving up the ice now and lets make something happen" and in-explicably the player with the puck would change direction and move towards our own goal. I mean I would understand if there was pressure, but I'm talking here about situations where there's lots of open ice in front of the guy and still he rotates around and goes backwards. Its like the only thing they can think of to do when the puck lands on their stick is to run behind Pavs.

The loudest chant of the night was the crowd begging the Jets to "shoot the puck!"

I've always hated that. The guys know when to shoot, the reason they aren't is because there isn't lane. If it was up the fans teams would just hammer pucks at guys shin pads the entire PP.

auntie mietennen is a KHL level hockey player....at best...i dont understand why he gets so much ice time, including on the first line power play...it was the same last year....i dont understand what the coaching staff sees in him.

i do sometimes wonder if Noel is the guy to inspire these guys....the biggest issue they seem to have is consistency of effort.....that is something that might fall on to the coach.....he certainly seemed to have his typical golly gee wizz attitude about being shellacked by a struggling team two nights in a row at home....maybe a young team needs a more hard line coach.

I do think they need a grizzled veteran Canadian player who can lead the team in the room...

i wish Noel would leave his lines alone for two shifts in a row sometimes....other than the first line it is an absolute merry go round right from the drop of the puck, no matter what the circumstances....tough to build chemistry.

joe mack does suck...that is a certainty.

He is a smart player and plays exactly how Noel wants. Those are the only reasons I can come up with because he is not super talented and never was.

The only way we add is if the price is cheap, the player fits in age wise, and is signed beyond next year. eg. Stafford

The people who thought we were going to trade early picks for guys like Morrow or Stempniak are nuts.

Imo we have 2 #1 dmen: Enstrom and Buff. One #2 in Bogo. One number 4 in Hainsey. A #5 in Stu and then two #7s in Postma, and Clitty and a #8 in Meech

Byfuglien can't be a #1. Way too inconsistent at the basics in his own end, getting the puck and moving it out. For all his unique abilities, he has too many games where he's tossing breakout passes up the middle of the ice to no one (turning the puck over) or getting beat off the end boards.

IMO Bogosian is real close to being a #1. Enstrom doesn't have a complete game either, so I don't know how he can be a #1 D if he can't throw a body check.

Maybe that's a little harsh, I think true #1 D are few and far between, there are less of them than there are teams in the league IMO.
