I'm curious how many of these threads there's been over the years...

The irony is that after all the bad contracts and dumb decisions, we actually had a damn good team, and he just messed that up too; though it seems like forever ago. He should have left after that season; if they went on to win, he would have been recognized as a part of it's construction. But nooooo.

That's the weird part. The team from two years ago had so much chemistry. A nice blend of skill, passion and grit. Then poof. Here we are.

Every time I see a thread like this, I laugh, as I just did.

Do I agree? Hell yes I do. However, until the garden is virtually empty every game, season ticket sales tank, etc etc, he will never be fired. The only thing dolan knows is money, and until he REALLY starts losing it, nothing will change.

Exactly. I try to re-iterate this point whenever this topic gets brought up. If no one went to Rangers or Knicks games and Dolan was losing money, then that would be the catalyst for real changes to be made. Unfortunately, that will never happen.

Dolan has no incentive to build winning teams because he will make the SAME amount of money if he has ****** teams. Fans still flock to the Garden no matter what.

Okay, he will make a bit more if his teams do well in the playoffs from the extra ticket revenue. But after you have the profit from 41 regular season games, a few more games don't matter too much.

Yeah fans will complain if the teams succk, but look what happened with the Knicks: fans *****ed and moaned for TEN years and would still go to MSG for the games.

Wouldn't firing Sather just cause Dolan churn that he doesn't want? There is absolutely no heat on him to get rid of Sather. After all I have read of the Knicks and Thomas, I doubt Sather ranks as something he has to change.

Didn't Dolan call him one of the best GM's in hockey a few weeks ago in the Post? I think I want to make that quote my signature, my avatar and maybe get it tattooed on my behind.

Anyone up for chants on Thursday night?

How about during every period with 13:00 left? For the 13 years he's been GM here

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Glen and still feel very lucky to have him. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience and I don’t know if there’s anyone else in the NHL that’s better than him, but he’s got to be close to the top."

Yea.. he doesn't know.. that part is accurate.

Yeah, maybe it won't do anything, but I want Fire Sather chants. It has a nice ring to it.

Thursday night?

There were some people I heard doing it, but never gained steam. That includes myself. The team coming back did not help with those chants. They will grow the more losses pile up. Too bad Jimmy D will not hear them and hold on to Mr. Teflon GM until he croaks or steps down.

Where's the Fire Alain Vigneault thread?

He was dealt a **** hand and is trying to work with it. He has changed his preferences in offensive style to get results. I give him that much for effort to make it work, but you can't win when all you have is King High and other teams have straights and flushes

Also, how many coaching changes does Sather get before his blame?

I actually agree with you. But I still got a feeling AV will be gone by the end of the year if the losses continue like this, right now our path leads away from the playoffs.

Coach needs to recognize what kind of players he has before he implements a system. You can't pound a square peg in a round hole. I blame AV totally for not knowing what kind of players he had prior to getting training camp going. There are tons of film on these guys, it's not like he never has seen any of these players, like they came from Pee-Wee's or something. He is totally to blame (Sather too, but he is going nowhere).

Disagree. The team doesn't have the requisite depth or skill to win and that responsibility falls on the GM. AV can implement any system he wants but the players have to execute and the roster we currently have can't.
