FIRE THIS f***IN BUM. It's a results oriented business and Schwartz has ZERO RESULTS to show. No shame in firing this guy, the Oilers gave him 8(!) years of undeserved NHL employment already. He was barely qualified to take this job in the first place, the best part of his resume is "Already living in the Edmonton area and willing to stay".

Imagine being this bum. I wouldn't tell anybody who I was if somebody asked me lol

LIke, he is the one constant for 10 years or so. You should fire him just for the sake of change.

How is he related to Katz? Has to be related to somebody

I assume that the goaltending coach would have some say in drafting prospective goalies and in which goalies the team would pursue via free agency or trade. For that alone, Schwartz should of been gone years ago, if he has no say in these things, then, whomever is in charge of goaltending scouting, both pro and amateur needs to replaced, yesterday. Goaltending is NOT the only issue on this team, that's clear, but when was the last time, that goaltending has been considered a strength of this team? apart from 1 really good Mike Smith year, and one really good Talbot year, this team has consistently gone into the majority of it's games with the inferior goaltender, and that's just average. If you're talking elite goaltending? Curtis Joseph, a year or 2 of Ranford, and Fuhr/Moog in the 80s. How sad is that?

You'd think they'd start with this at least. This organization doesn't deserve any fans.

Its been 5 years now since I've questioned him. I swear I posted about him earlier than this, but this is the oldest I can find.

Couldn't handle playing in the WHL, but sure ..... Those who can't do, teach right?

There's already so much conclusive evidence why Schwartz needs to go. Mike Smith refusing to work with the clown and working with his own goalie coach instead would've been my 'YOU'RE FIRED' day already.

Ya, that for me was a really obvious conclusion to the question. When a guy like that gets outside help and his play/number jump. You should be taking note.

So do you buy out goalies, or expend multiple assets to try someone new, or does one simply try a new goalie coach that costs nothing in assets or cash penalties for six years?

The logical management decision is clear. I guess that or do nothing.
