How did Babcock exactly work out for the Leafs ? how is Boudreau working out for the Canucks ...

You bring inn a d minded coach and the team will regress offensively and if the results don't change it will be the same story all over again but this time how we need a coach that is offensive minded
They both had winning records. They've done more in a month with those teams than DJ Smith has in 3 years with the Sens.

It's hilarious that we even have to beg here. All we're asking is for this team not to be eliminated from playoff contention in November for once in 5 years. This is a ridiculously low bar.

Don't worry, he'll be fired soon.

Won't make much of a difference though. We have 3 blueliners who are NHL quality, and one of them is injured. Team isn't going anywhere with that setup no matter who is coaching.

Keep blaming the coach keep blaming Zaitzev. Meanwhile we have a goalie that can't win us a game if his life depended on it. Three of the Devils goals were stoppable. The same story over and over.

When DJ gets fired the blame should fall squarely on Chabot’s shoulders. This guy tells Dorion to go out and get some help and he is absolutely killing this team. Guy is paid to be our #1 D and he’s been brutal.

Ok so you're good if we blame Dorion?

Sure but DJ doesn't see it that way. It would be odd for DJ to realize Chabot is playing bad but still play him 30 minutes a game.

What you're saying is not mutually exclusive.
DJ has no real system in place, the young talent of this team has kept him afloat for far too long.

He’s obviously trying to let Chabot work through it, I disagree with that concept.

I get what you're saying, but at the same time, playing him 30 minutes a game is insane. Play him 20-22 minutes and work through it, and he'll likely do just that.

Dorion belived Forsberg was a legit starter just like I think we all believed it.

He has not been good this year. I don't know how anyone can argue that. He hasn't been Matt Murray bad. But he isn't making the key stops to get us the win.

A new coach may give the team an immediate shake up, but with Forsberg playing like he is, they aren't winning jack shite this season.

Man, to go from the absolutely overflowing good vibes and excitement that this team had finally built over the “Summer of Pierre” to the anger and apathy not even a month into the season…

From a purely business standpoint I think you gotta fire DJ asap
Maybe I let myself get too hyped but this awful start is as bad a punch in the gut as a playoff loss for me.

This is almost as bad as the collapse the season following the ECF run.

Yeah there was a lot of anger about the off ice stuff and the decisions being made the last few years, but everyone expected the team to suck.

But this year, to be where we are a month into the season… oh boy all that goodwill has evaporated.

And they need to right that ship immediately. Continuing to slump and going on winning streaks after January isn’t fooling anyone anymore.

Disagree. I think we make the change in the offseason to take the team to a new level. I expect this team will sort it out and be there later in the season but fall short.

New ownership
New POHO
New GM
New coaching staff

Yea It would be ideal time to do all that right after they are sold. So you do a clean slate.

I’m wondering if it does happen, they wait until Tuesday as to not take away from Alfie’s big moment.
