I’m wondering if it does happen, they wait until Tuesday as to not take away from Alfie’s big moment.

I doubt it. If they make up their mind on Saturday afternoon they wouldn't wait an additional three days to can the guy. Best to do it right away and let the chips fall where they may. Not like Alfie will be in the arena itself.

Keep blaming the coach keep blaming Zaitzev. Meanwhile we have a goalie that can't win us a game if his life depended on it. Three of the Devils goals were stoppable. The same story over and over.

Yikes dawg.

Oh Chirp, I miss the days when you were actually ok being critical of the organization instead of always kissing its ass

That Chabot penalty is a penalty someone takes when they’re gassed. Chabot getting 32 minutes of ice time is on DJ, and DJ alone. A winger taking the most important faceoff of the game is on DJ alone. Anyone who thinks coaching has nothing to do with this isn’t behing honest with themselves.

It isn’t all on coaching, but firing the coach is easier than overhauling the roster overnight.

I want DJ gone, but I want Dorion gone too.

DJ is going to be himself, but a GM is supposed to show some semblance of reflexivity and realize that he needs to make moves preemptively so we don't end up in situations like this, and keep on in a downward spiral.

It might not all be coaching, but i think this roster deserves to be given another chance with a new coach.

30 seconds left in overtime and they take a penalty, ok win the faceoff and ice the puck that would probably kill the clock.

This mf puts out a winger to take the draw. We need to stop pretending that this 7 game losing streak is all on the players. Nobody forced him to double shift Chabot in OT when Sandy is rolling. He played 32 minutes last night…why!?!

I hear the train a coming it's rollin round the bend and I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when. I''m stuck in ottawa losing prison and time keeps dragging onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

This is not good. This is bad.

This team can play. I can see it. Moments of really good hockey creative inspired hockey. They play hard,
but something is not clicking.
As a fan I'm not angry I'm more sad it seems a waste

Remember when we were excited about Sanderson because it would take some of the workload off of Chabot?

What a bunch of horseshit.

It will. Give it time.

It doesn't matter how amazing a rookie defenseman is in this league, you do NOT give him big minutes in his first month in the NHL. We'll definitely see Sanderson's minutes go up in the second half of the season.

It’s nice to see someone blaming the coach for the right reasons.

Yup. Sanderson played over 23 minutes yesterday. Can’t really ask for more.

Season is already gone, 13 games in...absolutely pathetic.
Nah that is abit drastic. We will likely have to keep a .65 point percentage or so for the rest of the season. That is a big task but should not be impossible. A win tomorrow and then getting Zub back could be a start of getting us out of this hole..

DJ certainly has a propensity to make some unforced errors, or at least they seem that way with the benefit of hindsight.

I don't see how he lasts much longer. I said despite all the other seasons being Sumpter fires he deserved a chance to show what he can do with a good roster, I get the loss of Norris and Zub is huge, but when we lost Karlsson, Spezza, Michalek and Anderson for extended periods in 12-13, McLean adapted his style and the team came together to get it done. Maybe the fact that we've always been one goal away has them thinking they don't need major changes to swing the results in our favour, and that could be true but at the end of the day it's a results oriented business and coaches are hired to be fired

DJ getting too kmuch hate for this compared to Dorion.

The team has too many guys that shouldn't be on a competitive NHL roster.
Last couple of years maybe but not this year. Id argue that DJ barely faced any criticism before and that it was mostly on Dorion. Things shifted this year after Dorion’s summer.

Look at the standings. On paper we have a better team than almost every single playoff team this year that didnt make it last.

So many teams have their coaches getting their players to perform way above expected. No reason why that cant be us this year…

I know Brannstrom had that one terrible play that led to a goal, but under 9 mins and only 3 shifts in the third seems harsh
he is the burke of coaches, if he needs a play or a shift it will always go towards a more physical guy

and if a physical guy and a skilled guy makes the same mistake the skilled guy will be held to a higher standard

He gets punished far morE harshly than anyone else. It wasn’t even that bad of a mistake. The center did absolutely nothing there to help. Those board battles happen and get lost by many teams. But there’s usually not 4 mistakes to follow each lost four battle where the puck ends up in your net. And then the bench gets shortened. And Chabot gets run into the ground. I said in the other chat. Is he afraid of losing ? Cuz….

But that’s DJ.
