Is our bottom 6 too good? Begs the question.

its probably related to the injury. But I don't get why they don't just say that. Maybe his conditioning is not where they want him to be.

Sucks tho its a rare opportunity for him to play against his brother on Pittsburgh the family was likely flying in for this one. Hopefully it happens on Friday.

if he just needed more time, they would say that. Using the words 'healthy scratch' is very deliberate.

Conditioning shouldn't be a problem as he has been practicing for a while now and getting extra reps after practice.

They also could have sent him to the A for a conditioning stint if they thought that was an issue.

Something weird going on.

It’s clearly a message. If it was injury DJ could have just said that. Getting into game shape. Also even if it is an issue for the player DJ could have said the exact same thing. He chose to say healthy scratch. He chose to not elaborate. Clear message to the player

Issue is we’re not rebuilding anymore we suck ass and desperately need secondary scoring

idk what youre suggesting...but theres lots of men on twitter posting the same exact thing

I’m saying she and others just love these ambiguous answers open to speculation. Personally find it scummy jumping on it like a vulture trying to get clicks and likes. But whatever let’s get everyone fired up.

It is really odd. But so is everything with this team.

My guess is he was ready to go last game. DJ kept him out. As a low key healthy scratch. Joseph said something. And now DJ is just saying healthy scratch.

Last game was wierd too. Like either your ready or your not he’s been out for a while. And if something got reaggravated why would he be ready less than 48 hours only?

Don't tell me DJ doesn't hold players accountable... Healthy scratching Joseph with 50 friends and family in to see him and his brother.

Puzzling given the need for NHL players in the bottom 6.

Joseph has 2 goals in 25 games (1 on the PP, 1 SH.) and has had few games where you came away with. Good game from Joseph but still puzzling.

with 39 games left , Lets say 6 goals on the season , 4 more... Do you take the over or the under?

Signed to a 4 year 2.95 AAV contract in the summer of Pierre.

I posted this earlier in the thread.
I don't see how this really serves as strong support for your position, Bert simply claimed Zub looked better away from Chabot,.

He doesn't have 50 mins with any other partner, but he does have 103 total away from Chabot.

Zubw chabotW/o Chabot
Cf%49.2654.17
xGF53.4652.5
Scf%49.4854.02
Hdcf%56.154.5

That's with anybody else, when you remove Zaitsev Holden, JBD, Thomson, Larsson and Hamonic who aren't realistically options, you get 61 mins split between Brannstrom and Sanderson

Toicf%xGf%scf%Hdcf%
Brannstrom 42.3163.1669.1467.571.43
Sanderson 19.285058.5563.6466.67
Total61.659.6166.866.6670.0

I believe it's this time that Bert would have been referring to when he said Zub looked better away from Chabot. Holden is the only other guy that he could have been referring to however if that's the case I would not agree, Holden hasn't looked great with Zub and numbers back that up.

When an even-strength or shorthanded goal is scored, every player on the ice for the team scoring the goal is credited with a "plus." Every player on the ice for the team scored against gets a "minus." The difference in these numbers by the end of the game makes up each individual player's plus/minus ranking. A high plus total is taken to mean that a guy is a good defensive player.

To clarify, an even-strength goal means a goal that is scored when there are the same number of players on each team. A shorthanded goal is a goal scored by the team that has fewer players on the ice than the opposing team due to penalties.

In calculating the plus/minus statistic, power play goals, penalty shot goals and empty net goals are not taken into account. Power play goals are scored by the team that has more players on the ice than the opposing team due to penalties. A penalty shot, which occurs when a team loses a clear scoring opportunity because of a foul, is a chance for a player to score a goal on the offending team without any opposition except the goaltender. Empty net goals are when a team scores a goal when there is no goaltender present at the net.

Empty net goals count as a minus when goalie is pulled, unless PP or PK.

it’s been that way since the beginning.

Empty net situations are treated the same as having the goalie in net for the purposes of plus-minus: i.e., unless the scoring team is on a power play, empty net goals still count in its calculation.

It's really strange to me that we haven't tried any other RHD with Sanderson yet, like, he's had 650 5v5 mins, and only 32 of those mins were with a RHD not named Hamonic, Less than a minute per game, so most of that is probably Hamonic going for a line change before Sanderson.

I get that we wanted to have some stability for him in his rookie year, but at some point you've got to let the kid play with other guys.

Try him with Zub, try him with JBD, see if we can spark the team a bit. What's the holdup?
We're obviously too good defensively to make any changes.
