I doubt we were aloneThis team actually had Mesar ahead of Hutson.
I doubt we were alone
He's a development coach, not a magicien.Adam Nicholas, development guru, wherefore art thou?
Someone in the Rocket's broadcast pointed out the runway is getting short very quickly as far as the playing for the Habs goes. I didn't realize that Mesar was only 6 months younger than Kapanen. He's a development coach, not a magicien.
He's not much of a development coach either if you look at the evidence. He's a development coach, not a magicien.
He's been with the Habs for less than 3 years. That is a very short period of time to evaluate a development coach. He's not much of a development coach either if you look at the evidence.

I really don't think the problem with Mesar is his development. You can usually see early on that one skill that makes a kid a future NHLer - I've yet to see that with him.
He actually has a single translatable skill , and that's making a decent NHL level dish out of a zone entry after carrying the puck , the problem is everything else in his game is awfulHe's been with the Habs for less than 3 years. So, at best, after 3 years Nicholas has accomplished nothing? How’s that any better. He can’t get Mešar, Dach, or Slaf to improve their game. Those are our three earliest acquired ‘future core’ talents. He's been with the Habs for less than 3 years. That is a very short period of time to evaluate a development coach.

It’s his fault if Dach is made of glass and Slaf only shows up in the last 3 months of the season each year, you’re right bud!So, at best, after 3 years Nicholas has accomplished nothing? It doesn’t bode well at all.
I wish I could get Adam’s job — not responsible for anything even after three years, never criticised. Reputation intact, anonymous fans arguing passionately in my defence despite having zero evidence of any success. Great gig. It’s his fault if Dach is made of glass and Slaf only shows up in the last 3 months of the season each year, you’re right bud!
I wish I was an nhl players and have no responsabilities if I get injured since my junior years or don’t give a damn until the new year, works this way too.I wish I could get Adam’s job — not responsible for anything even after three years, never criticised. Mešar is a great example of a player who has not developed appropriately. Whether he didn’t buy-in sufficiently or didn’t listen also directly implicates the coach who couldn’t exercise any influence on him.
Is this Adam Nicholas’ burner account? Be honestI wish I was an nhl players and have no responsabilities if I get injured since my junior years or don’t give a damn until the new year, works this way too.
Mesar had no business going in the first. Hutson was a first for me.
if that is the case, front of net is not good for him. he won't be a NHL guyHis skating, hands and playmaking are all top 6 NHLer tools. He is suffering from Ylonen-itis where he doesn't want to get into the middle enough to use those skills to his advantage. He has to become more inside driven if he wants a NHL future.
But right now all of that potential adaptation and progress is being wiped by two big injuries.
