This was the lineup last game:

Farrell - Condotta - Barre-Boulet
HarveyPinard - Beck - Roy
Davidson - Xhekaj - Mesar
Kidney - Beaucage

Farrel on the first PP

Not saying Mesar is not struggling but can we compare apples with apples? When was the last time Mesar played on the first line or first PP ?

He played well the first few games, then got hurt but he never got an opportunity to showcase his talent with the best players of the team like everyone else did. He's the only one not getting any opportunities. I remember in one of the pre-season games he din't even get a shot at the 3v3 OT.... but was used on the SO? Make it make sense..

Me no comprende
He is playing with 2 of the better players on the team. Don't know what his minutes are though.

Mesar hasn't shown me anything to suggest he deserves time in the top 6, even an AHL top 6. One 4 point game doesn't mean anything, and every single guy above him has shown way more. If Davidson, who has been far more impressive this season, is on the third line, than what can Mesar possibly complain about?

It just seems to me that most people understand this just fine, so any issues you might have with understanding why he hasn't received top 6 opportunities are strictly YOUR issues.

Kidney, Farrell and Mesar will be good players in Europe.
Hopefully Roy can make the NHL. He's the only one we need from the 4, plus Simoneau and RHP, so 6. Not all will make it.

Nice that Slaf, Beck, and Hutson, plus maybe Davidson, Rhorer, and Engstrom, look good from that draft.

Mesar gets 3 pts in the first game, Beck is promoted to the first PP wave.

Make it makes sense

Mesar should do better.. that's 100% but its obvious he's not in Vincent's priorities, are they punishing him? Maybe.. who knows but we need to take this into account when we're evaluating him.

To say Farrel is producing more is a joke and that's what i was replying too originally

I still have hope for Roy. Dude can play a 200 foot game and would be excellent as a third line player that can add secondary scoring 5v5.

4 points in his last 19 games.

If I speak...

Mesar played 5 shifts in the first period, about 3 minutes of game time so like 8-9 minutes per game? Thats probably why he's not producing any more.

He's 100% trying but there's some issue somewhere with this guy and to be playing so little as a 1st rounder something must have happend.

He has an attitude of expectation. One of the worst draft picks by our current management core.

What a goddamn bust. Right in front of Kulich.

From his wikipedia he was born in a very small town of 6000 people from Slovakia.

It looks like cultural differences and social skills, he’s not jelling with his Laval teammates and he dint jell with kitchener.

He needs to be coached in many things outside of hockey and probably doesn’t realise he needs to do alot of work on his own to bring himself up to speed.

Like who says they got a new girlfriend in front of the media? Or talks about other players bed room counts or how much money they make.

Hes got the skills but if he busts its because of his mindset unfortunately and that seems like an area the team is not looking to help him with.

A trde to a small market team will be the best for him or lets give him one more shot next year.

The talent is there

Our Unicorn has surpassed Filip Mesar as a prospect.
When your only calling card is production and you aren't producing there isn't much else to say.
I expect Mesar will be better somewhere down the road but I don't see any indication he's top 6 material.
I also don't see him winning a bottom six role with the likes of Heineman Kapanen Beck and Florian already ahead of him by quite a margin.

Since 3 years we try to find why he is not producing. At one point, we need to coming back to earth and realize he is just not a really great prospect. In fact, he had to produces in the OHL. What he didnt. He was less than point per game thats awful.

He had a great first game in kitchener with 4 pts.

Knowing what we know now, being a guy from a small village and being so open and direct he might have offended some of his teammates there by saying something.

He got relegated to the third line during his first year in kichener… thats why his production dropped then.

The talent is there but the social skills might cost him a career in the nhl. Even Slaf got mad at him this year for the stuff he said in the media.

You may not believe me, but this is the truth:
- Long time ago, randomly I watched a playoffs game of a Vancouver game. In that game, there's a player that completely amazed me. I was certain that he would be a star. It turns out that he's Pavel Bure. I didn't know him before that game.
- Few years ago, I watched an Avalanches playoffs game. Makar impressed me big time. I knew he'll be good. This time, I've heard his name a bit before the game, but I didn't expect that he's that good.
- Few years ago, I just watched Habs development camp in summer (or maybe rookie camp). I saw Kotkaniemi playing. After the scrimmage, I told my friends that he's not good. And of course, my friends laughed at me coz it's just a scrimmage in summer.
- Years ago, I watched Mysak playing. In in 2 games, I knew that guy can't play in NHL.

My point: in certain cases (not always), we don't need to watch a player 100 games to know about his future. Sometimes, just a glimpse to his play, and we already know how good or bad the player is. In just few games, we may know if the player is talented or not.

And after watching Mesar about 4-5 games, I know that Mesar won't be good. If we are lucky, then Mesar turns out a decent 3rd liner.

Mesar, being a 1st-rounder, might still have a certain value. If I have an offer for a 2nd or 3rd pick for Mesar, I'd do it without thinking twice.

When blaming ice time as a reason for being non productive while at the same time as mentioning he got relegated...

There is a correlation somewhere relegation is not usually unjustified. Something isn't right with the player I mean Riley Kidney is occupying a better chair at this point.

It falls on Mesar to learn and adapt and make hockey his priority. He's probably waiting for someone to take his hand and show him the way i dont know.

You're quite the hockey Nostradamus! Any insights on Demidov or Slafkovský?

Or he has tools but not the toolbox.

I haven't seen anything indicating he has had issues integrating socially. I'd even say the way you talk about him sounds quite insulting. Being from a small village doesn't mean you're some rude socially awkward outcast. No need to do character assassination.
