Toffoli is a very high IQ player....what are you even talking about????? His only issue is his skating and it is becoming a bigger issue as he ages.

Those with low IQ are predictably unable to recognize those who have high IQ.....
So what went wrong with Shane Wright to drop 4th OV in a weak draft? As a small IQ person, I was still able to point the flaws in his game while you couldnt, but I wont speculate on your own IQ since thats a bit low level acting.

Not me... (see a trend?)

Let's not talk about Goyette with Raymond and Savoie.

Translating to the NHL is not rocket science: 1) speed 2) enough courage to play in traffic 3) enough IQ to learn

Raymond and Savoie have all this in spades.

We'll see, but the pattern is what it is. Offensively dominant guys who can skate like the wind but look a bit derpy.

lol, I guess.

"small players with speed, great IQ and in-traffic habits - without the generational abilities of a Crosby/Bedard."

ie. they will look like their superior versions in sequences, with lower % completion.

*Raymond at this rate could be something special

Raymond was really an important case to watch. Sometimes 17 year olds just look weird. But if they can outskate, outshoot and outskill their opponents they stand a better chance of figuring it out than not. Ranking a guy like Raymond 12th, for instance, is asking for it.

I can't completely blame the scouts, there are pitfalls with being too close to the action.

It’s weird but I’m kind of more excited to see what our 26th overall prospect does at camp than our 1st overall pick. Something about Mesar is intriguing.

He is really intriguing. He have high potential, high talent, great work ethic, great grit, his give all on ice, that's very good. Pretty good skillset, great playmaker, can shoot the puck aswell. Great stickhandling, great skating ability... can't wait to see him.

Slafkovsky and Mesar, that's both great talented prospect, for sure.

I’m sort of with you, his skills coupled with the little bit of character we’ve seen has me very, very intrigued. And maybe he’ll be motivated to show up Dinosaur at camp too.

He also got the character the management wants to see in a captain. He's the next captain and i think they need to protect this player at all cost and surround him with the best. I know its bold but he's got it all to be it for us

You don’t hear that often, player taken 26th overall is better than the first overall pick. Part of me wants it to be true and part of me doesn’t

Draft position in my honest opinion is mainly politics. Its what you see on the ice is what matters, what i see is that Mesar has a chip on his shoulder, keeps his head down and works like a horse, he got drafted 26th but he talks like he got drafted 275th, he's humble af and has big goals for himself. Slaf on the other hand acts like a pre-madona a bit and has the pressure to show that he's the true no1 overall and thats a double edge sword specially here with all the expectations and egos.

What? Not at all… he has said multiple times that he has things to work on and get better at.
