Legs look okay but WTF happened to his arms??
Prefers leg day.
Legs look okay but WTF happened to his arms??
Very mobile player, could be good with Dach but I believe he starts in the AHL this season.hes making the team this year... hes the best propect we have atm
Really curious to see how Mesar will do in training camp, he needs to beef up a bit but legs look quite strong already

Both of them are long shots to ever provide value of Toffoli. I don’t know what’s to be kidding about.Crazy that this draft had kids like Yurov, Mesar and Kulich drop in the late 1st.
Mesar and Heineman for Toffoli, are you kidding me?? That trade will turn out pretty ugly for Calgary.
You are missing something here, the value of Habs prospects that have never played and NHL game is high, very high. Both of them are long shots to ever provide value of Toffoli. I don’t know what’s to be kidding about.
I mean Heineman, really? There’s kids like this everywhere. Most of them never make it, it’s just a really weird take. Where we are in team building I think the deal made sense, but the chances of these two having an impact greater than Toffoli is not high. You are missing something here, the value of Habs prospects that have never played and NHL game is high, very high.

Would you rather two very effective 3rd line players (assuming they hit their potential) or one tyler toffolli?I mean Heineman, really? There’s kids like this everywhere. I’d rather the top 6 player, but there’s a chance we don’t have two top 9 players. There’s a good chance Heineman never becomes anything, same with Mesar.Would you rather two very effective 3rd line players (assuming they hit their potential) or one tyler toffolli?
I'm choosing the 3rd liners

I have both ranked pretty high in our prospects pool. Of course, when it comes to prospects, thats always speculation and subjective to each one. Both of them are long shots to ever provide value of Toffoli. I don’t know what’s to be kidding about.
To be fair he’s not much right now so..Toffoli would be nothing by the time we were competitive again.
It was an excellent return.
Toffolli usually starts strong on a new team, but ends up fading quick enough. Very good goalscorer, but not a very high IQ, makes alot of low % plays all over the ice. Didnt fit the new identity the new management are looking for, which is a speedy, high paced and smart processing approach to the game. Both Mesar and Heineman think the game fast and well and fit the mold better going foward. To be fair he’s not much right now so..
I don't think so. Mesar comfortably projects as a NHLer, whether it's top-6 or third-line. His game is very translatable.I’d rather the top 6 player, but there’s a chance we don’t have two top 9 players. There’s a good chance Heineman never becomes anything, same with Mesar.

Those with low IQ are predictably unable to recognize those who have high IQ.....I think you're underselling toffoli a bit.
We all know he's not a great skater, but you simply can't last in this league if you are slow and you have low "iq".
That being said, I agree that it made sense for Montreal to make that move based on their stage of the competitive cycle.
i have noticed that many people don't look past the draft position # to judge a player. They already know if he needs to go the ohl and they never seen him play.
Make no mistake, the only reason Mesar was picked late was due to his size. If he played like that and was 6.1-6.4 he would have been picked #1 without any doubt.
And im not Slovak, i just see the potential after seing hours of video of his play
Him playing 1 year of AHL i think would be beneficial because i think he'll dominate the league but i don't see any harm starting him in the NHL right away because this team is in development mode and he seems to be physically ready to take up on the challenge of the NHL.
My preference would be him in Laval. He's been playing against men the last two years.
My second option would be the OHL.
Him going back to Europe (SHL or Liiga) is my last option. I'd be disappointed he would go back there, but I wouldn't be upset. Similar to how I felt about Norlinder. I was disappointed he went back to Sweden, but I didn't get mad. And I'd also feel the same if Heineman chooses to go back to Leksands.
The slovak league isn’t as physical as the AHL though.
I think he is playing in NAMesar said he doesn't want to go back to the Slovak league if he goes back to Europe. He would like to go to SHL and Liiga if he goes back there.
