I see a 25 goal 50-60pt player. Is that about right? Ive always had the idea that many had him as a point per game team leader all star.
He's about a 25-goal 50-60 pt player. Including the likelihood that he's injured and misses 20 games a season. Which at the SAME TIME makes him pretty close to a point per game team leader all star too. So he's kind of both.

Which won't be accepted. Other fans are offering a lot more. Forsberg may never even become available, though, so it's still fine for it to all be fan chatter. But you've put in the lowest bid of anybody so far. Congrats.

We all know the history here. We regularly over price rentals. Good chance if and when this trade happens, people are surprised at the return

Yea and when forsberg does play a full season he definitely is a 30+ goal scorer. Plus he’s a successful playoff performer

Are the Kings very likely to make the playoffs? If not, maybe they should really just be thinking about trying to sign him as a UFA in the summer, and leave the rental offers to other contending teams? :dunno:

I don't think we're really expecting offers on Forsberg from teams which might have higher 1st round picks like that. I mean, who knows where either team will be in March anyway. Maybe the Preds will have already extended Forsberg by then and maybe the Kings will still be sitting pretty in a playoff spot. But I wouldn't have thought the Kings would be bidders on a deadline-rental Forsberg, anyway.

Normally, yes, but the Kings have a herd to thin out and Forsberg is the highest quality of the players most likely to be moved or available as a UFA. Clearing out contracts, creating space for better young players than those already on the active roster AND improving the top end of the team is paramount.

Wouldn't go as far as 'pretty close to a PPG' though! Save for one season at a pace for 78p on 82 games, the remaining 6 seasons (with reasonable sample size) comes in at 63p/82g average.

This will inevitably become a thread, so I will start it just out of curiosity. Nashville fans will be weighing this one all year as I am sure Poile will be. Forsberg has been a fan favorite for us, but has perhaps started to reach the end of his time in Nashville. I think Poile wants to discuss an extension with him at a reasonable rate, but I think there is valid concerns that he will try to maximize himself and outprice Poile's taste.

With the overall idea of our team being a younger movement, what is he worth as a rental? I would think a prospect and 1st would be a reasonable expectation. How many teams are in on him at this price?

What would you want from The Rags?

If he ever had a #1 center on his line, he'd be ppg.

Not at all. Who's asking for that level of prospect? Preds should be looking at, and based on Poile's comments last year when there were teams asking on Ekholm and Forsberg, a 1st and a high-level prospect. Moving a productive 1st line forward and getting back a 25-year old player with a career high of 37 points (5 years ago) and a 2nd would be a very poor deal for the Preds.

As a Pens fan, I'd offer Poulin and a 1st.

Definitely an interesting offer. What's the scouting report on Poulin?

Versatile forward who can play all 3 positions, is solid defensively, and pretty good at both scoring and playmaking. Strong on the puck, and his hands can surprise from time to time too. Not a great skater, but has supposedly worked on it to the point that he's average.

His development time will probably be a little longer than the Pens would like given the age of their core though. Will likely need a couple years in the minors before making the NHL, but reasonably projects to be a good middle-six utility knife with some size. Could make it as a complementary top 6 player.

Sounds pretty good. Sounds like a player Hynes would like in his lineup and like a player I don't think we have in our pipeline as of now.

At least for me, this is probably the most enticing proposal thus far.

Ottawa get brannstrom and a 2nd rounder for mark stone who a better player.

So a 1st pick and a good prospect ( no elite prospect) should be his value or something like kravtsov and a
4 or 5th pick

You mean like we overpriced Erat?

Remember the only pick involved in the Erat trade was a 4th that came back to Nashville.

Poile, to my knowledge, has never traded anyone for another teams 1st rounder. He usually looks for good prospects who are already proving themselves.

I suspect if he is traded, the Preds will get a top end prospect and a lower draft pick (2nd or 3rd) rather than a 1st and a middling prospect.

That said, the way the Preds are playing now, I do not expect him to be traded.
