This talk about retirement after 2 weeks is just stupid lol. If Chytil is not cleared for high tensity activity in like 6 months, then we might enter that discussion. Laine just missed 3 weeks because of a concussion and no-one was talking about him retiring lol.

Vince and Larry clearly got told it’s bad, they wouldn’t release basically how concerned the team is on the same day.Breathe, it will be okay, Vince and Larry aren’t out to get the Rangers.
No but they are out to get clicks. It’s how they stay in business.

Chytil was the last center they drafted in the first round.

2017 was 13 years ago.

I may be wrong but, here goes. If Filip was more the "hitter" than the "receiver" maybe his injury toll would be less. Kind of like the best defense is a good offense. Filip has NEVER been a physical player despite his stature. I like to compare Cuylle with Filip for some reason.
They play 2 different games where Cuylle HITS before being hit. Serving him better? OR, is it just happenstance? I'd bet a whole lot that Will has very little injury issues for a very long time. As much as I like Filip and still think he's going to have a very productive career, he just seems to me to have been Mothered for way too long, a little bit of a Momma's boy. Well now, I suppose I am going to get ripped into shreds. IDC, I'm not anyone's favorite anyway. lol.

I'm going to laugh when Chytil is back on the ice after Thanksgiving and ready to go the first week in December and all this silly garbage was just spewed by our beat writers who were just looking for clickbait since it's been a slow week with no games.

Im pretty sure we all hope Chtil is back by then if not sooner. I also hope it is his last concussion. They say he has had 4 as a NHL pro. I hope he hadn't had any before the NHL.

I've read somewhere that after the last one he had the issue with sensitivity to light for a while which is not what I would call great. If this recurred again he's not going to be on the ice until that goes away which could be..........? or it is when it is.

Going forward it seems to me that Filip quite often doesn't see hits coming as in his on ice awareness is not the best. Whatever treatments there are keep in mind if you continue to get dinged again (and again) those treatments probably won't do you a lot of good. I know Jeff Skinner went through a lot of issues but the last few years he seems to have have kept away from them but concussions can absolutely end someone's career and sometimes it's best that the player does retire for his own sake. A Stanley Cup IMO is not worth CTE and all the issues that come with that.

Half his injuries are accidental collisions with his head down. Don't think it's hitting than receiving.

Will you cry if he's not?

Yeah, it's quite the leap at this point. I have no clue (none of us do), so the assumptions are really out there.

I think we took probably 6+ months on Sauer before people really started speculating that he was truly going to retire.

I know it doesn't have to be violent hit to retire but what happened to Chytil was like a back rub compared to the Sauer hit.

It's not a good sign given the hit that likely caused it. It reminds me a lot of one of Lindros' concussions when he was here. I think it was in SJ and the end of a stick almost innocently stuck his head and I remember thinking little to nothing about it at the time. Turned out it was concussion and he missed quite a bit of time. That was towards the end for him though...

Nothing personal, but your statement is borderline idiotic. So, yes, your statement should be ripped apart.
