This may be semantics but if Chytil comes back at any point then he's closer to returning with every day that passes.

Sadly Chytil is traveling down the "what could have been if not for all the injuries" road..I hate to move on from him,but at this point it is probably the safest thing to do.kid is a concussion/injury magnet

Montreal would probably deal Monohan if Chytil is out long term...just saying
LTIR him and sign Kane (in addition to your suggestion).

Kane wouldn’t cost a thing, and we’d likely have the cap space. Worst case, we scratch him. Best case, he’s an upgrade over Wheeler on the first line.

He should consider retirement for his own sake at this point. It’s sad, considering his talent and age, but no amount of money is worth long term brain damage.

BTW, another guy that had multiple concussions that got over them is Crosby.

Thankfully Sid been able to recover and play but I don't know if I would say he got over them. We have seen in sports some of these guys have really bad effects years later. We had Eric Lindros here. I think his career would have been 25%—50% better if not for his concussions. Kind of crazy that concussions were an issue for Brett Lindros as well.

For every Crosby, there's a LaFontaine, Kariya & Lindros

Some players just have tendencies towards them and on top of that can't seem to recover from them.

Very sad.

The Rangers need to figure out how to get some more young centers. They need to use their first round picks for that instead of renting.
Can we go back in time & do that also?

Id like that but in their defense they did draft 2 centers in the first round of the 2017 draft.

They have centers, just the 2ed line 3rd line types are in juniors or college like Laba and McConnell-Barker. Rangers have Korczak but I bet he plays wing in Hartford. Rangers have Rempe and Edstrom but knowing the Rangers they let them play wing then move to center. Cuylle has played center in juniors and has success at faceoffs. I would give that a try to be honest. Like that is gonna hurt his development by giving him a look at center.

The guy has missed 2 weeks. Of course there is concern but some people are just so over the top with the "his career may be over" stuff. Nobody knows anything about his medicaI condition. I would also expect nothing less from the hack Brooks who will always look for the downside to any situation. I hope "Peter" Trocheck continues to play well.

Brooks wasn't the first or only guy to hit on this though.

Started with Vince.

Nice clickbait article by Brooks with nothing to back it up. Yes he’s hurt with a suspected concussion, but nobody is saying he is thinking of retiring.

NYR have been SUPER conservative this year when it comes to injuries, last year he might have been already back skating for a week by now.

Chytil was the last center they drafted in the first round.

2017 was 13 years ago.

He's actually dead. The funeral was on wednseday, typical MSG secrecy nobody knew about it.

RIP in Power.

Vince and Larry clearly got told it’s bad, they wouldn’t release basically how concerned the team is on the same day.Breathe, it will be okay, Vince and Larry aren’t out to get the Rangers.
