Gonna be interesting, hope that chemistry is there......but if it's not, you have 4 solid lines.....

Faiala/Kaliyev - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Iafallo - Byfield - Kaliyev/Fiala
Lemiuex - Lizotte - Grundstrom
Whoever I missed as 13th F etc,

Top 9....really, can play up and down the lineup.....I think someone said something earlier about McCellan f***ing it up with the minutes.....I think that's going to come down to, how much work did Byfield put it in over the summer, and how much it shows and TM trusts.....

I like the trade buttttt….Why not use 1st and Faber to get Chychrun and then just sign Forsberg for 8 mil a year?

No guarantee Forsberg signs here......

I heard he only played w Kaprizov 5% of the time.. from my kid - have yet to verify
YUp, barely played with him except on the #1PP. the only talented player Fiala played on a line with during his three years in MN was 20 yo Matt Boldy(40gp), after which he was scoring at a 100 point pace. Before that, he played with guys like F Gaudreau, Victor Rask, Nick Bjugstad, Marcus Johansson, Donato, etc... a who's who of nobodies.

I don't agree with him there but they DO have some flexibility with moves, ie Iafallo, Kempe, etc...our Cap isn't as locked as a team with a bunch of NMCs, our assets are eminently moveable, keep in mind there are some outgoing free agents as well...and in the next few years some dead cap is leaving as well

In other words if they wanted to do some big fish hunting they'd just have to send a good roster player out.

I think all Rosen is saying is that if Blake really wants to go for something big this summer, he can.

I mean, unless you are moving AI+Kempe, only 2 moves to open up space would be DD or Kopi…

And while forsberg is an upgrade on Kempe, not sure he is enough. (Unless you got some really good pieces for AI/Kempe)

While I do think the team needs improvement on D, does the team really need a player with as large a cap hit as Chychrun though?

Looking at the stat lines for last year, The Kings were #20 on Goals for at 235 compared to The Panthers at #1 with 337. However on the Goals Against, The Canadians had the most at 317, The Hurricanes had the least 200, The Kings were at 9th with 232, in fact we gave up the same amount of goals at The Avalanche, except they had 308 goals.

Well that answers that.

Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Iafallo - Byfield - Kaliyev
Lemieux - Lizotte - Grundstrom
Nope.

Fiala - Byfield - Kempe

Kopitar likes playing with Iafallo, let him keep doing it.

They ain't paying a player 8-mil to babysit the kids.
They ain't paying Fiala $8M to make sure grandpa takes his meds. The Kings aren't getting past the best in the West for at least a couple more seasons. Playing Fiala with Kopitar = Waste. Of. Time.

I like the fact that Kevin plays full seasons vs Jacob being the walking triage.

Because people are curious. Fiala at even strength:

NumTime%PlayersGFGA+/-SFSASF%CFCACF%
1432:0438.0KEVIN FIALA - FREDERICK GAUDREAU - MATT BOLDY33181526023452.642740451.4

367:466.0VICTOR RASK - KEVIN FIALA - FREDERICK GAUDREAU23-1262947.3524852.0

536:133.2KEVIN FIALA - FREDERICK GAUDREAU - TYSON JOST220182245.0394248.1

As you can see, TOI with KK is minimal at Even Strength. They played 4 forwards on the PP, so he's out there with KK, but his Even Strength production cannot be minimized. Remember Danault also had strong ES numbers in Montreal.
