Blake has usually done very well in terms of value on the trade scene.

Hopefully we move Iafallo and Cal Petersen, create some space to bring in better players.

I hate this trade so much.

This almost guarantees Byfield plus every other forward prospect, except maybe Kaliyev, to playing 11-12 minutes a night and to keep playing as the grinders.

And they spent a 1st + a bluechip defensive prospect to further impede the forward prospect development and chase another playoff appearance.

Well. I love getting Fiala and I am fine with losing the 1st. Losing Faber stings a little. I think he is going to be great in Minny... Just have to see how this pans out. It is a meh contract that is heavily weighted on his last season. If he can keep up that production, it is great, but if he is a 20g 50p guy....

In Kevin Fiala, the LA Kings get a LW who was nearly a point per game player for the past three seasons (including 33 goals this past year). And he's strong as a bull...

This will have a major trickle down effect..
I now fully expect Kopitar to have a significant spike in production
I now wonder if it would be best to drop Kempe to Byfield’s line and add Snip-a-yev to the top line

Will you like it more if Blake moves Iafallo and opens up a roster spot?

Either through trade or free agency, this was happening regardless. The direction was determined last offseason

Look across the league. All the good teams have three scoring lines. It's up to our coach to adapt and evolve. This whole thought process that you need to have two scoring lines, one checking line and one energy line is completely outdated now. You will get chased off the ice with that philosophy.

I think this almost guarantees that JAD and Vilardi will not make the team or are not part of the future of this team and will be traded before the draft to make up for the loss of picks.
