I’m proud of Blake on this one. 19th pick is a magic bean 3-4 years away, Faber seemed like he was going to walk given our defensive depth, and he didn’t give up any top three prospects. Great use of an abundance of assets.

I don’t think the difference between Filip Forsberg and Fiala is Faber who’s undoubtedly going to be a top 4 dman and a 19 OA. Forsberg was asking for like 8.2 million. 300k difference. Don’t know about this one. Don’t think he’s a bad player, but I feel like free agency and keeping faber would have been amazing.

He was asking for that much from nashville. What's stopping him from signing a ridiculous contract with someone if nashville refuses the 8 mil? And what if he does sign in nashville, who's the next target for the same contract?

Iafallo is probably the odd man out. The Kings are not breaking up Moore-Danault-Arvidsson and $4 million is too much to pay a third line winger.

Faber probably didn't want to wait in line behind all our depth on RD, and Fiala is two years younger than FF and he's getting paid less.

Fiala was someone who I thought we should target early on. Kind of shocking to me that Blake has actually picked up two players who I was hoping we would have attempted to acquire. Danault being the first and now Fiala. I love this move especially because Faber has been showing signs of being a Minnesota kid through and through and right handed defense is a strength of the Kings. May as well get something in return.

Love the trade! I'll be very surprised if Forsberg signs for less than $8m AAV, so trading Faber and the 1st for a slightly lower cap hit on a player 2-years younger is a big W in my book!

He's listed at 5'10", but around 200 lbs. so stocky.

Faber was the 45OA. So 45OA and 19OA for Fiala. Addresses a major need and clears up a little of the logjam on RHD. I do like it.
