I wasnt really considering his skating ability- he's not fast.. on the PP its not about speed as its about quickness with decisions and deception. He seems to have that in spades.I guess we are looking at 2 different Durzi’s.
I see very slow-footed player with some smarts and offensive abilities.
A full rebuild would've taken years. If Blake can pull 5 years of playoff appearances with this, I applaud him.He retooled the roster while rebuilding the prospect pool.
Kupari has all the tools. Size, skating, good shot. Like a Kempe clone that just needs time. What's up with Kupari? I think this guy is due for his breakout season. He was showing some promise last season. He should at least be getting 3rd line duty. Enough with Iafallo. The guy's horrible. Trade him.

My only suggestion is swapping the wingers on 2 and 3.Given how Kopitar is a creature of habit, and Iafallo should bounce back (if he is still here), I wouldn't mind seeing this lineup to start the preseason.
Iafallo-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-Danault-Arvidsson
Fiala-Byfield-Kaliyev
Lemieux-Lizotte-Grundstrom
Three lines capable of producing offense, four lines that can apply a lot of offensive zone pressure, and it also opens up a third scoring line that might get more favorable matchups. It's akin to what Tampa Bay does in rolling three lines that can score on any opponent, and a fourth line that's a pain in the ass to play against.
As far as Vilardi and Anderson-Dolan go, they have to show that they belong in the lineup, so until they blow us away, I'm not counting them in.
Durzi isn't slow by any stretch of the imagination. What are you talking about? Are you watching the Bally's West feed?Durzi is maybe the slowest NHLer I've seen where somehow it barely affects him.
I agree, but this strategy is too progressive for the Kings IMO. I'm positive they'll be running a "top heavy" strategy.Given how Kopitar is a creature of habit, and Iafallo should bounce back (if he is still here), I wouldn't mind seeing this lineup to start the preseason.

He is the worst skating D on the team by some measure.Durzi isn't slow by any stretch of the imagination. What are you talking about? Are you watching the Bally's West feed?
Blake is probably very busy between re-sigining RFAs, negotiating with GMs, searching for an assistant coach and getting ready for the draft. I honestly think he's prioritizing that stuff, even though I understand it's unusual not to have a press conference.I might be completely off on this but can this trade be a result that Kempe's asking price is way too high?
Acquire Fiala as insurance in case Kempe's camp doesn't budge. I'am sure we'll get the deal done just hope it's south of 6 per.
The GM seems to be dodging any presser on this trade, like to know how he will work the numbers.
Every GM is busy this time of year. Guerin went public with his reactions to the trade. We just traded for and signed a very expensive player with no comment from the GM or his staff...weird.Blake is probably very busy between re-sigining RFAs, negotiating with GMs, searching for an assistant coach and getting ready for the draft. It seems the Kings were looking for a scoring winger after the playoffs. It's possible Kempe's asking price is too high, but I don't think this trade predicates that.

And then we trade him and blossoms into a very good player and we commiserate that we “traded him too soon” or “didn’t have patience with a young play”.This logic will never not make me chuckle.
No need to worry about the PP, Sturm is gone....that will fix all problems. Right??For the PP I just have simple wishes. Kempe, Fiala on the right. Right shot on left. Doughty just passes to one. Drop Danault & Kopi in the slot & net front. Both are great in tight areas for different reasons. Just shoot. Stop trying for cute pass. I can live with shots going on net & Danault, Kopi fighting for 50:50 pucks.
PP 2, Clarke & the other of Kempe, Fiala.
no actual press covering the team = no press conferenceI might be completely off on this but can this trade be a result that Kempe's asking price is way too high?

There’s been enough talk about the fact that Todd runs it. So if that’s true then nothing is going to change which is likely. Could have just been a figurehead. No need to worry about the PP, Sturm is gone....that will fix all problems. Right??

One can only hope. Either Sturm was the problem or Todd was. The next year will answer that question. It's just a really bizarre scenario that the PP sucked altogether.
Todd historically has had good PPs. Sturm was widely lauded as an up-and-coming, smart coach who liked up-tempo play and strong offense. Strange that putting the two together was an unmitigated shit show.
Obviously we have some issues with personnel too, but the coaches sure exacerbated things very clearly and made some very visible mistakes all year.
It has nowhere to go but up, right?
I read somewhere that Blake was doing the press on the trade this coming week. I think it was on LA Kings Insider, but not 100% on that. It was definitely somewhere though.Every GM is busy this time of year. Guerin went public with his reactions to the trade. He probably looked at the names on the press credential list and said “oh f*** it”.I read somewhere that Blake was doing the press on the trade this coming week. I think it was on LA Kings Insider, but not 100% on that. It was definitely somewhere though.
