Kings News: Fiala to for 2022 first-round pick and Brock Faber

Over the past three seasons, Fiala ranks 32nd overall in NHL scoring with 179 points in 196 games, the same exact amount of points as Anze Kopitar, who has 179 points in 207 games. They are both tied with Alex DeBrincat as well.

Fiala's 76 goals over the past three seasons ranks him 26th overall in goal scoring in that timeframe. Filip Forsberg has 75 goals. Kempe has 60 goals in the last three seasons.

Check out some of the names Fiala has outproduced in the last three years.

Svechnikov, Point, Bergeron, Forsberg, Ehlers, Kuznetsov, Landeskog, B. Tkachuk, Dubois... just to name a few.

Fiala is easily the most talented player the Kings have acquired since Ziggy Palffy.

The Kings arent contending for the trophy next year so whether he plays w QB or Kopi or Danault doesnt much matter from my perspective. I wouldnt mind him playing with QB but that implies 3rd line minutes. Odds are it will be Kaliyev w QB and probably Iafalloff

Not necessarily true. When Toffoli broke in he was playing the majority of his minutes with Richards and Carter. Both those guys averaged more than 4+ minutes of TOI than TT.

That being said, Arty and a non-injured IA is WAY better than Brown and AA and I'd be all for it.

Here’s hoping Fiala’s chip on his shoulder attitude is infectious and it rubs off on the kids. This team has too many good soldier’s who are safe and predictable but not a top 20 talent.

yeah i mean, it suits the "'win now' pretty soon" thing blake seems to be doing, whether i agree with that or not

obviously it's not fair to call it a lombardi trade but i'm getting a bit tired of trading away 1sts when none of our 1sts have impact yet

i'll probably grow to agree with it in a few days, there were some hot gambles in the mid-1st round this coming draft though.......

I mean it meets the “win now” and if that was it, I’d hate. But, it also fits the “win in 3-6 years” thing too? So win-win?

We're back to the same BS that existed when Robitaille and Blake played for the Kings, "Just make the playoffs and anything can happen."
This formula has netted the Red Sox 4 World Series titles in less than 20 years. It ain't BS.

As a side note, there has to be more coming by way of trade. Still need to move one of Durzi/Walker, and there's still no room on the roster for Vilardi. Wonder if those 2 pieces are packaged up in a deal for Chychrun...

It’s still early in the off-season, more moves will be made but this is a DL type trade. Though Fiala probably isn’t someone DL would target given his size.

chychrun is not coming to LA. Any massive deals will probably have to include Byfield.

He just got named Minnesota Gophers Team Captin for this year. True This guy looks like a strait shooter with middle management written all over him.?'
I really just want to quote LA Confidential but something about that picture screams “Security”!!!!!!!

Back to be named Captain, its way more in sports than I ever accomplished. Although it should be noted I was Captain of a Bronze Roller hockey team as well as Captained and drafted the team that won the first ever Kings Chix Cup, so I know how to put a team together. These accomplishments can never be taken from me.

But the list of former Golpher Team Captains is a who’s who of, who???

If you go back to 2001, I did see Jordan Leupolds name. So maybe he can achieve that level of success in the NHL

A year and $1.9m per too much, but that's life

we'll see how he does in LA

he's a steady 30 goal scorer for 3 straight seasons now (annualized)
but his point totals dry up in the playoffs for some reason (perhaps the sample size is small)

I'm ok with the deal but I'm more disappointed with the fact that we won't land a Forsberg, Malkin, Tarasenko, Laine type of player, that's what I really wish the Kings would add

Blake needs to do Fiala - Forsberg - Arvidsson to satisfy my OCD

But...he is the boldfaced.

Malkin is a FA, maybe he's next :P

Laine is an absolute wildcard

If Faber indeed was not going to sign, this is a great trade. Better to use him now than to get peanuts for him in the future.

Cap is still in pretty good shape too, we will see if Blake can grab a D. I wouldn't be surprised if the forwards we have now are on the opening day roster. Iafallo may be moved next year, but he won't this year until Moore shows that he can keep it up.

good point, we sometimes don't know the details behind why a trade is done

besides, with those glasses, Brock fits the Fargo Lifestyle more than anything

For a 1st line LW, sure. Pay the man but better deliver. It's a gamble but if he can just ignore D and play O, I'm happy. To the Coaching Staff, he's 25 so please don't break him by making him play D all the time.

I like Fiala. I like what he brings. He brings a tenacious game with a goal scoring touch. Let's see Byfield squeeze up into that 1st center spot with Iafallo and Kempe on his wings. Fiala, Vilardi and Turcotte round out our top 6. That should get us deep into the playoffs. With Danault and Kupari in our bottom 6, we're good. He also has given the Kings the fits these past couple of seasons. Good to see him in LA. This next season's gonna be a good one.

Hey Sean, hey we're gonna ship you out to Arizona, hope you are alright with that. We're trading you for Chychrun. (other end) ...Click.

Too expensive and is 28. Old, broken down, and a giant A-HOLE [like we need another center]. Over 30 and wants his big money. Headcase, not a team player who also wants his money and would cost a lot more than a 1st and Faber as an RFA.
