It still tied for the most viewership of people 18-49 last week. It tied with Game 2 of the NHL Finals. Episode 2 tied for 3rd, with Game 3 of the NHL Finals, and Street Outlaws.

The drop of viewership from ep 1 to ep 2 in that range was .2 though (1.2 to 1.0)

This years premiere, did beat last years finale. However this years premiere lost 3.56 million viewers from last years premiere.

They already renewed for a season 4, but if the ratings continue to decline at the rate they are, I doubt we see a season 5.

Heck, they may not even make it to season 4

Tonight's been a chore to watch. Really considering stopping. It's just not fun anymore. I don't want to watch it just because it's Walking Dead.

I'll stay depending on where Strand ends up.

After a fairly strong start last week, this episode is dragging badly. They might as well be on a boat again.

Salazar is clearly alive based on the preview. I mean, I liked his character and thought he was one of the best ones on the show, but come on the guy was in some sort of cell and on fire.

That was a really good episode, even with the miracle survival of Daniel.

That might have been the best episode of the entire series. Rubén Blades killed it as Daniel again. I hated when they killed him in such a stupid way, so I'm happy to ignore that he somehow escaped a locked jail cell while on fire as everything around him also burned.

I can't remember if he locked himself in there or just the walkers behind the cell before lighting it ablaze. I think it was the latter -- he locked them in but made sure he had a way to get out.

I can't even remember now, but I remember then that it wasn't a clear death while watching live and they didn't even air a tribute video for him on Talking Dead after that episode so he was clearly still around.

EDIT - found the scene on YT. He lights it ablaze but keeps the cell behind him unlocked and open. He was hallucinating though and was dropping gasoline in a straight line from the moment he opened it, so he would have been burned on his legs at the very least considering he did escape before it all exploded.
