I hope USA upsets Russia and Sweden/Czechs upset Canada. FIN-SWE final would be perfect way to end this season.

Would be nice for us Finns, but won't happen.

Finland will lose to Kanada on tuesday and play against Sweden in the qf, and against the CZE in the semi.

Russia will knock out USA, and play against Canada in the semis.

Finland vs Canada for gold? :sarcasm:

It's not the Russian team that scares me, but I'd expect the referees to have impact in the finals. Canada probably wouldn't have referees on their side, but they are dangerous always still.

So now Canada and Russia will again meet in the final...

Corrupt Refs 6 Finland 3 :sarcasm:

Sorry but this time, the refs won't make that much of a difference. Finland is too good this time around.
Will be a close game. Anybody's guess who will win.

Russia is great but they are chokers on home ice. St Pete's 2000, Moscow 2007, Sochi 2014. :)

But Russia looks scary good. But I can say the same after Finland dominating Canada 4-0. :)

Does anybody know what's the schedule for saturday games?

What time are the games? For my understanding the pairing is RUS/GER vs. FIN/DEN and CAN/SWE vs. CZE/GER.

My prediction after the group stage:

1.Finland
2.Canada
3.Russia
4.Czech Rep.

I'd have Russia in 2nd, but they'd meet Finland in the semis. And Finland has been my prediction to win the tournament since the beginning, and I've got a habit of not changing predictions.

Correct. But the times are not known yet. I assume Russia would play the later game, but I'm not sure. We'll know once the QFs are over.

After the beginning series we have to see our Finnish Lions as favourites to win gold and bring the boy back home. Very strong team Canada was no match, so what team could match? Team Russians probably on semisfinals, but I sense that our Finnish Lions have the uppered hand against Ovie and friends.

In my opinion it's a little disrespectful towards the leaf shirts to say that they were no match against team Finland. Even they lost, they made it very clear to everyone that their skill level is far beyond Finland's. There's no doubt that they'd win a best-of-seven series 99 times out of 100.

You say it like Finland is comparable to Lithuania.

Actually if you ask me if Finland plays against Russia these days Finland should win almost always if they play best of seven series. Russia is having better lineup as we all know.... Finland is having better coaching and playing strategy and that difference is really huge these days.

Real world ranking with overall if teams plays best of seven should be:

1.Canada
2.Sweden
3.Usa
4.Finland
5.Czech Republic
6.Russia

Rest of teams are not even close.

Relax, these are not the Canada cup teams from 1982. lol

Finland was the better team after the opening 10mins, regardless of the poor goaltending that Canada had.

You talk about disrispect. 99/100? No doubt? Clear to everyone?

4-0 is brutal, no excuses

Agreed. Finland was the better team and deserved to win. Zero excuses.

Suomi played an excellent shell defence collapsing near their own net. They took advantage of rebounds and turnovers in their defensive zone creating odd man rushes going back.

Suomi had a game plan and they executed it perfectly. They had much more high percentage scoring chances than Canada, they deserve full credit for the win and game plan .

It really was an outstanding team performance by Suomi against Canada. There was no doubt who the better team that game was. They deserve full respect for that win.
