Favorite NYR Goal?

There's a Gaborik goal against Florida that's almost an exercise in teleportation through the neutral zone that I love. I can never seem to find it on YouTube.

I believe I know which one you are talking about as I was at that game.

I think it's the one at 0:21 of Loffen's video.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's it, but the hallmark of the goal is him getting the puck near his bench/defensive blueline and suddenly being at the offensive blueline, which isn't in that video.

I believe that Drury intercepted the puck on the PK, was tripped, and Gaborik took the puck and within 2-3 strides he was gone and the puck was in the net.

I swear I've seen the video somewhere for that goal, it's driving me crazy now.

Brassard scoring the lone goal in Game 6 vs. Washington/2013. I wanted that ****ing series so bad. We had like half a game left to play for that one too!

Here's St. Louis moving in, SCORES! Goosebumps. Every time.

Can watch that goal on repeat. It helps that I was in a bar and everyone, including non-hockey fans, went absolutely bonkers for this goal. Beer flying every where. I finally felt like we were going to the cup.

I'm not sure how it was in 94, but thats what stood out the most to me about the 14 cup run. It seemed like the whole city was rooting for the Rangers.

No link but Boogards slapshot goal and McIlraths first goals were nice moments as well.

Surprised this hasn't been posted

This one literally made hair stand on edge. It was dramatic, apropos, and emotional all at the same time. Being there to see it, everyone knew the gravity of the situation.

The first time in the history of MSG that a Marty chant was celebratory.

I'm too young to remember 94. Barely remember 97. Most of my absolute favorites have come in the last few years:

- 2007, Straka goal against Buffalo in game 5. I thought we would win that series at that point.
- 2012, Gaborik OT winner vs. Washington, game 3
- 2012, Richards & Staal game 5
- 2014, Kreider in game 3 to tie the game
- 2014, St. Louis OT in game 4
- 2015, Stepan game 7 - my absolute favorite

Some less "obvious" ones:

- 2000 home opener, Messier's return to the Rangers, scored from behind the net vs. Hackett
- 2000, Leetch scores the OT winner against TOR for Richter to pass Giacomin with his 267th win
- 2003, Bure end-to-end rush in OT vs Anaheim
- 2003, Messier empty net goal vs. Dallas to pass Gordie Howe with 1851 points

In recent times, gotta be MSL against MTL. That entire run was a movie plot in terms of MSL's situation and his execution. The trade overall was a lot to pay, but he was a key player for us in that run.

That was one of those rare goals where you could tell it was going to be in the second he got the puck. I usually assume the worst when it comes to Rangers in crunch time situations like that, but as he was skating in I just knew it was going to be a goal and it was over.

I saw the Matteau goal live when I was 12 years old, but I hesitate to call it my "favorite" because it was kind of a flunky/anti-climactic play until the puck crossed the line. Biggest, yes. Favorite, no.

One that is up there is Brad Richards' goal in game 5 vs. Washington in 2012. Yes, it was only the 2nd round, but it was the first time in a looong time I felt the Rangers had a team that could really go far in the playoffs. Scoring with 5 seconds left and eventually going back to Washington up 3-2 was a huge momentum swing - one of the biggest I could ever remember as a fan.

Marty's goal against the Canadiens has to be my favorite goal ever. Just knowing we were so close to being up 3-1 in the ECF, but also so close to being tied 2-2 and game 5 in Montreal looming. He finally beat Tokarski, and add in him losing his mom and the whole journey added to how special it was for him.

Matteau
Stepan
Tikkanen hitting the camera
MSL on Mother's Day

The Stepan goal was Stepan from Girardi and Yandle. Crazy to think that none of the scorers on a top 5 goal in Rangers history are on the team two years later.

Shame on all of us for nobody posting this yet.

I'm sorry for those who don't need a tissue or two after watching it. Maybe this helps.

Until we win the Cup in a game 7 OT, this is our greatest goal in our history. Obviously.

Here's 10 somewhat-Rangers goals from Kovy LOL
