This is exactly why I kind of don't want McDavid on the Leafs. Not because of the hooking or slashing, but because, he really has zero care when it comes to defense. I don't believe it will magically show up if he gets to Toronto.

That is the major issue. It is this way with many stars and I resent coaches and owners that allow it to fester.

Your best players have to play both sides of the puck, or, the message to others is clear. McDavid is a unique talent. In the NHL, that doesn't guarantee you a Cup.

I loved how people said Matthews only scored as much as he did last year because he was playing in the North Division. Fast forward to this season and he's still scoring at a 60 goal pace. I look forward to watching them try to explain how this doesn't count either.

Like I said in the other thread. I think if he had even a semblance of a team he wouldn't play the style he does in Edmonton. He has to sell all out for offense or his team would never score. Not to mention he plays like half the game every game.
