A lesson for the Leafs, they can play defense (as imperfect as it was) and still score goals. .Campbell is solid and steady, the right recipe.

Leafs forward depth might be tops in the league. If Dubas can steal a. stellar top four D Man, I might fall for the hope they can make some noise this post season.

Taking a break from shitting on Edmonton, the leafs played an excellent third. Unlike against Columbus/Chicago they locked it down defensively while still controlling the play. A great sign

Auston Matthews will win the rocket again. The most consistent goal scorer in this league bar none

Nylander is elite, his assist on the 4th goal was perfection. What an all around talent

Rielly has been elite since his signing as well

JT did some awesome work to set-up Matthews on the first goal, wins the faces-off, then battles a few Oilers to get the puck to Matthews.

Matthews had the 2 goals, but that was maybe the strongest I've seen him on the puck before, dude also hustled like CRAZY in the D Zone, what a game for him

He always shows up big time against McDavid.

I think the biggest take away from this game was Muzzin-Liljegren looking like a solid pairing. Both over 20 minutes tonight. If we could find a solid bottom pairing RHD to pair with Sandin then we might have solved our defensive issue.

This is exactly why I kind of don't want McDavid on the Leafs. Not because of the hooking or slashing, but because, he really has zero care when it comes to defense. I don't believe it will magically show up if he gets to Toronto.
