The 2nd period was not a good display of defense but they made the most of their chances and scored a couple. Picked it up from then on.

Team wasn’t the best defensively shot wise, but it seemed like it was less transition plays that lead to them, even if the goal was off a weird transition . Their offence seemed to come off turnovers and in zone play. Not the best but not the worst either

Always nice to see the crowd go home happy. Aside from that, it was great to see the Leafs play a normal game with structure

The shot total wasn't really indicative of how the game went. Edmonton outshot Toronto, but to me, it certainly didn't have that feel to it.

Matthews continues to be statistically the best goal scorer of this generation, no one can deny it... it's not even an opinion, but sheer and utter fact. Love him, obviously.

Kase slowly putting up some points the last 2-3 games. Few goals and a few apples. Looks good on him. Good player.

I knew McDavid and Draisaitl would cool down a little after their frenetic start to the season.

I remember when Matthews tailed Draisaitl by like 16 goals in the scoring race, now he has 3 less and missed the first three games of the season and had a slow start.

Any night that Edmonton loses and it's because of the Leafs... it's a damn good night.

Oh and Holl still sucks.

Both teams have superstars but our guys seem to take as much pride in stopping the other guys scoring as scoring themselves

I don't think the Oilers players are wired like that, lots of lazy lax defensive play and effort out of them

This is exactly why I kind of don't want McDavid on the Leafs. Not because of the hooking or slashing, but because, he really has zero care when it comes to defense. I don't believe it will magically show up if he gets to Toronto.

He'll buy in here, our stars actually focus on both ends of the ice

Decent defensive play all game I thought. Oilers only goal was a garbage bounce. We got lucky that Draisaitl missed the empty net in the first.

Forwards were much more committed to being on the right side of the puck and it showed... AND still scored 5 goals.

PS - Holl sucks right now. For the love of jesus, let him sit for a while.
