One kepper slot left in an ESPN head-to-head league. Kept player does not affect draft slot.

Already keeping:
Kershaw
Bryant, 3B, OF

Options are:
Lindor (leaning)
Myers
Bumgarner (disinclined)

Definitely between Lindor and Bumgarner; I'd forget Myers. I understand the impulse to lean Lindor; he's elite at SS which is typically a weak position and you already have a SP kept. However, I think that SS is a pretty deep position this year and having two aces allows you to be more aggressive for hitters early in the draft. I might lean Bumgarner

I'd go with Bumgarner even though I hate keeping multiple pitchers, especially in only a keep three. Lindor is a pretty good fantasy player in his own right, but a lot of what makes him so good is his defense.

MadBum is so good, but I also don't like keeping two SPs in a 3-keeper league. I am also a big believer in carrying multi-cat guys to try and win SBs. Last year I kept Starling Marte but I can't keep him two years in a row (only one "dynasty player in this league and for me it's Kershaw).

Need to spend some more time tying to predict who'll be kept by other owners and then look at the position depth charts. This post was really my first entry into baseball this season.

Thanks.

A few questions:

2. Should Alex Reyes, who is out for the season, be one of them?

It is a 12 team H2H points league. My first 13 keepers are bolded. Thanks.

I'd keep Trumbo. He's back in Baltimore and should put up ridiculous numbers again.

We get 4 keepers in my league, hook me up with some help.

Pitchers: Chris Sale, Chris Archer, Johnny Cueto, Matt Harvey, Kenta Maeda, Zach Britton

Fielders: Mike Trout, Starling Marte, Robinson Cano, Eric Hosmer, Miguel Sano, Billy Hamilton, Khris Davis, Logan Forsythe, Ryon Healy, Adam Duvall, Justin Turner, Addi Russell, Nomar Mazara.

Looking at keeping Trout, Marte, Cano and Sale.

It's a 10-man league with 33 players per roster. I might try to trade Marte for a 1B/3B prior to the draft.

Yeah, those are the four I'd go with.

I mean, nice job, but how in the world did you win a 10 teamer with that team? I'm not criticizing, I'm just curious.

bye into first week of playoffs

swept 7 pitching categories in the second week and stole two batting cats

the championship week was an utter ****show between both teams

Somehow swept batting categories slashing a .2326/.3200/.4381 -> both teams in the 'ship had the worst batting avgs out of everyone in the league.

Hey guys, thought I'd check in as myself as well as 3-5 other buddies of mine are looking for a $$$ league this year. We are all pretty die-hard baseball fans, our league just happened to fold this offseason. If anyone can show or tell me how to search for these leagues I'd appreciate it. Of course, if any of you are creating a league of your own, that'd be great as well.

Generally, buy or sell on Jharel Cotton as a 2017 sleeper? Eno Sarris seems extremely high on him, some peripherals are way better than I even remember last year, when I was scrambling to get starts towards the end of the season, playoffs.

More specifically, I can keep him at $5 - my league is a pretty deep auction league, where keepers cost exponentially more (so I had Cotton at $4 from waivers, he's $5 this year, becomes $7 next year, $10 the year after, $14, $19, etc). The league average is probably around $13 dollars, so he's definitely well worth it financially if you expect him to have even a solid season.

My decision probably comes down to Josh Bell at $2 or Cotton at $5. Other candidates to not protect are Nola and Matz, both at $4, or Taillon at $2, but I think all of those are clearly better plays than Cotton at $5.

I'm inclined to just take the chance on Cotton, since pitching is harder to come by in my league, and if he's an impact player, he will probably be more valuable immediately than Bell, who I can likely get back in the draft if I wanted for just a bit more money. Bell's not exactly a lock for huge production, so I was more keeping him just to see what happened and because he was extremely cheap. I'm operating with one more spot than normal because I'm letting McCutchen go back into the draft. My other keepers are Goldy, Corey Seager, Marte, Polanco, Braun, Kershaw and the other three pitchers listed above.

I think Cotton is the clear smart play, and would be too big of a financial risk to try and win back in the draft. Even if he's not quite the mad hype Sarris expects, solid production will still probably be useful as my #5 pitcher (we staff 5 dedicated RP slots, and I usually end up with at least 9 SP options, often 10 as long as I have good production from my batters and everyone is healthy. So essentially, I always am in need of decent to good pitching).

12 team league keep four (those are your first 3 picks)-

Keeping Betts, Harper and Altuve

Can also keep Cutch, Posey or Freeman.

Should I keep one of those three or should I keep my fourth and hope a pitcher like Kluber, Price, Strasberg, Cueto, deGrom is there?

Fun fact: I once beat Eno in a fantasy baseball league (I knew him from somewhere).

I'd take a chance on Cotton.

This trade was just made in one of my dynasty leagues... seriously.

Mike Trout and Chris Archer

for

Chris Davis, Andrew McCutchen, Mark Melancon, Marco Estrada and a 2020 3rd round pick

My team is god awful in that league, but if I knew Trout was being sold for pennies, I would have jumped all over it.
