Zetterlund-Stü-Tkachuk : Don't think Tkachuk ever played RW, Zetterlund does every season.

Batherson-Cozins-Giroux : Giroux is 37 now, hasn't play center much in years, he lacks the wheels too. Cozens is not good defensively yet, need him to focus on his offensive game first. Batherson hasn't played LW much in the NHL, even when he's on the same line as Giroux, it's Giroux who plays LW

Amadio-Pinto-Cousins : very little scoring potential, we'd be back to pre-deadline stagnation

Perron-Grieg-Gaudette : Greig and Perron are not 4th liners and are not paid as such

Many possibilities for the Top-9

Damn I hope not lol

No way... If every 40+ pts guy makes at least 6 M$, then the cap quickly becomes unsustainable. Lawson Crouse got 4.3 AAV a few years ago as they saw a similar player (but more physical)

Look at Frank Vatrano, who has scored 154 goals in 501 games since 2018-19 (25 goals per 82 games average), which is the 57th most in the whole NHL since then, just got extended 3 years at $4,571,189

Zetterlund has 41 goals in 146 games since last season, which is a 23 goals per 82 games average, should get around 4.5-5.0 AAV due to the cap rising.
I guess comparables are Pinto.

Regarding the lines, I lined them up like anyone would line D up. I am not sure why wingers play their off sides regarding their shot, but alright. This is especially interesting to me considering how hard we worked to get D for both side shots, so we could put them in their correct positions.

He is not a ”maybe 20 goal guy”. He is a 20+ goal guy with an overall very strong game. He can skate fast in the transition and forecheck, grind the board, fight in the crease decent shot (that needs improvement), pass, defends well. He is a very capable high volume hockey player.

The Sharks essentially traded their best performing player for low end talent, it’s an insanely good trade for the Sens.
He’s scored 20 once. This year in track for 20 playing on an awful team which doesn’t always mean he will continue score in a better one.

The year before last he seems to have scored exactly zero goals.

I think you need to read up on those stats again. 2021/2022 he played mostly in the AHL. Made some encouraging appearances in the NHL. 2022/2023 he started the season at the Devils then was traded to the Sharks. He did score goals just not for the Sharks. 2023/2024 he had his first full season and scored 24 goals and 20 assists in 82 games. This season 17 goals and 19 assists in 64 games.

New team is always a challenge but I don’t see him regressing. He is a high volume guy in more or less every metric, whether shots, hits, blocks, distance, top speed, bursts, take aways, PIM drawn/PIM and so on. He is just an all around solid hockey player. Not elite but certainly good enough for a top six. With an elite center like Stutzle he’d increase point productions, with Cozens he will be a good helper.

2021/2022 (rookie season)
Games played 14
Goals scored 3
Assists 5
Points 8

2022/2023 (first ”genuine” NHL season)
Games played 45+22
Goals scored 6+0
Assists 14+3
Points 20+3

2023/2024
Games played 82
Goals scored 24
Assists 20
Points 44

2024/2025
Games played 64
Goals scored 17
Assists 19
Points 36

I don’t see any reason to be worried. He has found his game on the NHL level and will keep producing in Ottawa.

Im
Not “worried”.

Just not ready to pay him like he’s a perennial 20 goal guy or more.

C’mon man it’s barely been 24 hours, plus it’s like 10am for his body clock still.

He gets a pass.
Consider the organizing that would be needed to get all his equipment ready and on a plane across the continent to Ottawa, along with him, to facilitate a noon game, three time zones ahead, and it was always going to take a miracle.

The good news is that we aren’t really down a key player waiting for him. If we had to wait for Cozens, with Norris gone, that would have been a pain.

Pinto might be close in terms of offensive production but he's a Center and plays a more complete game, he will always get more I think

Not sure why you had wingers mixed up but check that site, very accurate lines and positions :

Yeah, not super accurate when they have Gilbert as a LW forward.

Boy you were negative on the Cozens deal and now you are dissing Zetterlund. Maybe give them some games and see how things shake out.

This guy is totally going to score a hattrick his first game against Detroit.

Emotional win against NYR in terrific come from behind fashion and now the tank gets inserted in another critical divisional game.

This is where his legend will start.

He is a great 3rd liner with the ability to play up a line or two for injured players and not embarrass himself but is not a top two line player. You will love him and his RED Face he gets LOL. The only reason on the Sharks board we got was from his Agent seeming to imply that soon a RFA and arbs rights that the exchanged offers might be why he was dealt, still not the right value from Sharks Fans View. In fact with this unexpected trade might bring down his Team's (Zetts and Agent) idea of price back down to reality if his team way over valued him and get you a very good player on a good contract. UGH From my perspective. Good Luck To him and You.
We shall see in the summer when Staios has to sign him as a RFA. We are not swimming in USA dollars; we get the $0.50 version here in the Great White North.

Dude he was only in Buffalo. Take an Uber if you have to. I get that these are coddled hockey players, but people get to work every morning in Ottawa despite having to take OC Transpo.

People are going to bring up that it may not have been legal for him to work until his visa was processed, but that just means he doesn't want it bad enough.
