Boy you were negative on the Cozens deal and now you are dissing Zetterlund. Maybe give them some games and see how things shake out.
Im Not dissing. I said I liked the pick up and understand the price we paid

But he’s not guarantee. Nor am I in a rush to pay him 5 million a season

Frankly, Ostapchuk is going to be a good 4th line checking center but doesn't have much upside to be more than that, maybe as valuable as a Kastelic in his prime.

Gregor was a free wallet and decent depth player but basically we paid a 2nd and a 4th line Center for Zetterlund and a 4th round pick

That seems like a very good trade to me. I am very encouraged by Steve Staios, he seems to have the creativity we need to become more competitive. Since Dorion messed up the 2nd part of the rebuild, we really needed a guy that would find all kind of ways to improve the team and we might have that guy in Staios. Amadio signing is a bit meh and the Perron signing didn't work out so far but there was a lot of bad luck attached to it. The Chychrun-Jensen looks really bad on paper but the loss in value falls on Dorion's shoulders no doubt.
I hope Staios makes more positive trades and acquisitions in the future than he has done to date. His record so far as some not-so-good aspects as you have indicated.

Even the Ullmark trade, which looked good but not great before Ullmark signed a new deal, is not looking as great as it did early in the season with Ullmark's play not being so "great" at this time.

The Chychrun-Jensen trade does look really bad now with Chychrun's improved play in Washington. I don't blame Dorion for that; I blame the coach we had for not using him properly and Staios for making there Jensen-Chychrun trade rather than directing the coaching staff to change their ways. The loss in value was caused by DJ Smith and then the trade by Staios.

I agree the Amadio signing is meh and the Perron signing has not worked out. The Joseph trade to create and then waste the cap space was awful.

I hope the Norris-Cozens trade and the Ostapchuk/2nd round pick-Zetterlund trade work out well for us.

It will be interesting to see where Green employs Zetterlund: 2nd line LW with Cozens & Batherson or 1st line RW with Tkachuk and Stutzle.

Dude he was only in Buffalo. Take an Uber if you have to. I get that these are coddled hockey players, but people get to work every morning in Ottawa despite having to take OC Transpo.

People are going to bring up that it may not have been legal for him to work until his visa was processed, but that just means he doesn't want it bad enough.
Who, Zetterlund?

From what I can see his last game was in Colorado and then he presumably flew back to SJ with his team.

Not sure you can use the Visa argument either, how can an athlete be an exception?

I was joking. I don't think not wanting to break immigration laws and risk getting banned from a country equates to a player not wanting it bad enough.

Apparantely Staios was calling Grier, 4-5 time a day about Zetterlund. Said alright last minute. Other gm are piss because they didn t know he was available
