And it's exactly the thing I get flak for.

If we can't afford Tro a 3 years 5 per..... But he goes in the division for that..... Just lol

Again, wait and see what we do with that money before freaking out. It’s not like Trochek was some absolute all star that we can’t win without.

I doubt he signs for $5 mil per, anyway.

I do sometimes wonder why the constant flow of players to Metro rivals doesn't concern the front office. I mean, so far it hasn't hurt the team's trajectory at all, but it does make me concerned sometimes that it will eventually bite them in the butt. I mean, look at the list of guys: Hamilton to New Jersey...DeAngelo to Philly...now Trocheck to the Rangers.

God forbid the team want to change things up or have a plan to use the money elsewhere.

Seems like it's been quiet on the Nino rumor front, maybe he will be one of the day 2 guys and come back here for a reasonable amount.

I thought NYR were all in on Kadri... Maybe Tro is their backup if they don't land him. Really don't see how any of this fits into their cap.
I did see talk on twitter a few days ago (forget who) that Nino was still interested in returning to the Canes, but wanted to see other offers as well. So maybe his agent just sucks at the tampering game, but I still have him as a 30% chance of returning guy, where I've long assumed Trocheck was gone.

the Ducks are 18 million below the cap floor. Could the Canes entice them to take Gardiner with a prospect and/or a mid round draft pick or two. That would free up another 4 million a year to Use on a Free Agent or to finalize a trade

If Tro signs a deal like this, I’d be so upset

agreed...would be a good pickup for the Rangers...Tro is a clear upgrade over Strome.

Q is: does he want his family to live in the NY area & cost of living plus NYC/NY State tax rate is much higher than NC? Pa is probably a better location for him but Pens and Flyers have put their money in other players.

My prediction for today:

One of Petry, Burns, Klingberg. (Would prefer Klingberg (if affordable), Burns, but think Petry is more likely)

Nino returns

Snarky start to the day...sending virtual Xanax...working from home? Perhaps a nip to settle the nerves.

I am curious to see how the Necas and Nino sagas conclude and if I will need to change my work schedule to watch them along with the Canes.

I was thinking the same thing. If we already had a deal done with the Habs (rumors saying they have a trade in place with someone) then why are we still being linked to Burns or Klingon?

I bet the Borg want to make Bear and Gards disappear. Have one of each run a pp?

Gards <---> Burns 50%...what do we need to add? SJ gets 3 years at 4m cap relief...are they trying to compete?
