It would be ideal situation if Jokerit lost in the first round of playoffs so TT86 would get some single games with hawks at the end of season and have a taste of the show.

But, it would also be awesome if Jokerit made it to the finals so we could see Teräväinen showing his skills in the most important games and potentially dominate the playoffs.

Wishing nothing but the best for Teuvo, despite how the season will end.:handclap:

As much as I would like to have TT join the Hawks as soon as possible, I think I'd rather that he contributes to Jokerit winning in the playoffs. I think the experience of playing a big role in the playoffs would benefit TT's development more than being rushed into NHL games. If Jokerit loses and the Hawks still have regular season games remaining - then ok, bring him over and give him a taste, but I think playoff success with Jokerit will be the best.

I agree. TT should play out the remainder of Jokerit's games then go to the WC. While having him would be amazing with the Hawks, he isn't the factor that is going to push them over the top to win the cup, given that there haven't been any significant subtractions from the cup-winning team.

Well, with the way Jokerit are playing right now, they could be out pretty soon, ie. in a couple of weeks. I hope TT goes over after that, even if he would have to play in Rockford.

Yeah I would like to see him over as soon as possible too but the kid should take his time after all once he arrives he be given everything he needs to be an impact player in the NHL- second or third line with at best Kane or worst Saad.

The season of Jokerit has been a pretty rollercoaster. In some games they dominate the game totally and in the next game they look like a bunch of sheeps. Jokerit have wide and pretty good roster for the finnish league but it seems that it's up to Teravainen to steal the cup. If Teuvo dominates the way he has in some of the games this year Jokerit might survive all the way to the finals, but playoff hockey is much more tight and defensive, so might be that he fades from the picture. Now Teravainen has to show what he is made of. Jokerit doesn't have the best coaches and the game is depending alot on individuals, so Teravainen can really show if he is up to it. Great players step it up when the stakes are high.

Joel Quenneville said to CBS that Teravainen is going to Chicago after Jokerit season ends.

He's comming! :handclap:

In an interview with the McNeil and Spiegel Show on Tuesday morning, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville indicated that Chicago will add 19-year-old Finnish forward Teuvo Teravainen later this season.

Teravainen is currently playing for Jokerit in Finland’s SM-liiga. He’ll likely be done with that league sometime in April. Teravainen participated with the Blackhawks in training camp, impressing many teammates with his skills.

Now, it seems he’ll be destined to provide help for Chicago as it makes its playoff push and tries to repeat as Stanley Cup champions. Teravainen could fill the hole as the Blackhawks’ second-line center.

“He’s really progressed,†Quenneville told the McNeil and Spiegel Show. “Reports are excellent on his development this year.

“When their season’s over, he’s going to come down, come back here. Our people believe that he can help us, so we look forward to getting that opportunity. Hopefully, at what point will there be time in the regular season to get a look at him? Or will we have to wait to see in the playoffs?

“We look forward to having a chance and at what point, that remains to be seen.â€

Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman said last week that Teravainen might join the Blackhawks this season.

Marian Hossa could also return from an upper body injury in a week, Quenneville said.

Teravainen looks to have the same build when he left the Hawks rookie camp. Hes going to get hammered at the dot if he doesnt plan to do some weight training.

His game is based on his agility in his skating, changing the direction quickly and dodge checks. He moves like waterbug on the ice. The key with Teräväinen is that he needs to add weight slowly without hurting his skating and agility. He has played against men for 3 seasons so he has experience against men on the dot.

Biggest questionmark is his adjustment on the small rink from big ice and play tight checking high intensity playoff hockey. Im curious to see how it goes.

Hawks fans already saw his skating. Kanesque but Kane is a winger. The issue is since the Hawks want to play TT at center, what is his fo% going to be. I'll say somewhere around 30% to start.

I was hoping TT would be faster than Kane.

I'd say Kane has above average speed - not a blazer, but pretty good. TT's is not as fast Kane but I think TT will get faster as he gains leg strength. TT's skating reminds me of RNH in that he's not fast but very effective because he skates with his head up so he sees the ice so well as he's moving.

I think TT could do "the Granlund"and get like 30% more speed (at least) in one summer of NHL gym training. He isn't that bulked yet.

I'm a Canucks fan, but I've always been intrigued by TT.

Would love to watch him play for the Hawks in the playoffs.

For his sake though, it might be a better idea to wait for next season.

I'd say between 44-46%. 30% is ridiculously low.

30 is a good guess. For example, Kuznetsov's career %FO in the KHL playoffs (somewhat similar competition to the NHL centers in terms of faceoffs) is 25.8 even though he's bigger, stronger and and was 20-21 years old during those games. And I don't think TT is that much better in this case, so there's absolutely no way he could win ~45% of them right away.

I dont know how much face offs are about strenght in NHL level but my guess is not that much. It's skill "minigame" after all.. In lover levels of hockey, there is better and worser face off takers, even though not much strenght is needed in them.. Also Selanne is really good draw taker even at he's old days.

I say much more about skill than strenght, but I make pessimist bet that TT will lack lower body muscles in NHL if he comes to play this season. Without good legs you can't use your skill so well in NHL..

I don't think that it's unrealistic to expect TT to have a FO% of 40-50%. If we look at some rookie finns' FO%, they are right along that line. What I remember is that TT and MaG are really close in terms of FO skills.
Mikael Granlund 47% (rookie season)
Markus Granlund 52%
Erik Haula 42%

He should try training with the Granlunds this summer. They trained mostly outdoors and not in the gym and benefits have been clear to see this season.

Kuznetsov is a winger. His FO% is irrelevant.

Yeah i really didn't undertand that part either, he already has a contract with Hawks and Finland has a transfer agreement. He doesn't need a "blessing" from Finnish federation.

correct me if im wrong but didnt something like this happen to carl soderberg, in that the national team tried to stop him from playing with the bruins and instead for the Sweden.
