RIP Fugu
I cant wait until this kid comes over and hopefully ends the Hawks search for #2C once and for all
Thanks Larry - that's good stuff. I think knowing a players personality helps to read him a bit.
There's a lot more to the guy obviously but it's hard for me as a Canadian to relate to the Finn. Also he's told me a lot of stuff over the last few years but there's obviously a lot there I can't share.
The guy is genuinely excited to be playing for the BlackHawks so that's always a plus (loves Kane...and there were some teams he said he really didn't wanna get drafted to but I can't share those) but one issue with him is he just doesn't like working out.
He's not irresponsible away from the rink by any means but he isn't a real gym rat and he's not the healthiest eater more. He's not a bad attitude guy or a partier (doesn't drink/party more than the average person), he's just a normal teenager at this point. He likes to eat like a normal kid, play xbox, etc...But he told me the Blackhawks asked him to work on his fitness and eating habits and they got him a diet plan last year.
There is a positive way to look at. As a "normal teenager", he will mature and should become more dedicated to to his craft, including improving his strength and conditioning. He doesn't have to be a gym rat by his nature - he just has to have the mental discipline and will to work at it.
I wonder about his frame. He looks thin, does he have the frame to pack on 20 pounds or would that be too much for his frame?
Yeah, hockey players are not trying to be best at working out, they're trying to be best at playing actual sports.
I think the working out will come with seeing how guys in the NHL train - especially Kane, who's become much more dedicated to working out and getting in better shape over the past couple years.

IDK, I think for a hockey kid at his height and for his age he strikes me as looking fine though of course as he gets older and the benefits of more Pro training of course I expect him to put on weight and muscle as well as gain more strength. Basically just like Kane. In preaching patience or temperance as always where prospect development is concerned I said this ages ago over at our old stomping ground and still maintain these things take time and it won't just happen all "Poof!" over a summer so I expect that it's going to take several years to get that body up to more snuff.
Now this is thin IMO. . .

Jokerit has 7 more regular season games. Guesses how many points TT86 will get before the start of playoffs? I'm saying it is 10 points, so he will get 50points in 49 games played.
I would be surprised if they brought him over this year, even with Bowman's comments, but right now is it looking like he's basically a lock for next season?
In the autumn there were news saying that they wanted to keep him, but since he already had a contract with FEL/Jokerit...Pretty much.
Apparently the Hawks brass had a big debate about whether to keep him in Chicago after training camp this year. Seems that he's only gotten better since then.
TT's team (Jokerit) is going to make the playoffs. The only question is whether they end up in the top 6 teams of the 7th - 10th place group of teams. The reason that's important is that the top 6 teams get a bye while the 7-10 and 8-9 teams play a best of 3 game series to determine the 7th and 8th seeds for the playoffs. Jokerit is currently tied for 6th place with 87 points. The other team has the tie breaker but Jokerit has one game in hand. Jokerit has 5 games left in the regular season.
If Jokerit ends up in 7th place and loses their 3-game series, then TT could be in Chicago by March 22-25 and there would still be 9 or 10 regular season games remaining that TT could play in. But if Jokerit wins their 3-game series or finished in 6th place and goes on to win the first round, then it's doubtful that TT would get to Chicago in time to play more than a couple regular season games, if any.
Plus there is a possibility TT could play for Finland at the World Championship tournament. If that happens, then TT may not come to Chicago until the summer.
