He just said in an interview he is likely staying in Nitra. 60/40 Nitra/Erie

I did see that. Just my opinion personally that coming to the CHL makes most sense
Yeah he is not Nemec who was best defensemen in league nor he is high motor beast like Sýkora so I don't think he is gonna be successful in extraliga like those guys were

Personally, I also think the OHL would be a better option for him. High upside, but very raw talent at the moment. But it is quite realistic that even if he starts the season in Slovakia, he will move to the OHL after a couple of months.

I don't think he is gonna be top 6 winger or guy that fits well into bottom 6 like Sýkora

Didn't think he was that great at the Hlinka. Might've still been the best Slovak player, but I was expecting a little more.

I thought he looked smaller than the 6'0 listing. He needs to move his feet more. I think his skating is about average, but it looked worse than it probably is because he wasn't moving his feet. I expected a little more offensively from him also. I see the skill, but he wasn't as consistently dangerous as you'd expect.

I think he's probably more of a round two guy than round one, but round one is still possible.

I completely agree, lots of times along the boards he lost out because he wasn’t moving his feet and just didn’t look engaged. He also needs to get stronger, lost quite a few physical matchups against players his size. I actually think the move to OHL would help him, he is more raw and really needs lots of games to increase the overall development. He’s probably a candidate to go in that Sykora range: 55-75ish right now.

What happened?
Was playing in some floorball tournament, there was a huge fight between teams because of some bad foul on rangers prospect sykora..., looks like molnar took it too far, basically assaulting, breaking the jaw of one of the opponents, police was involved.

The Middle Sports School in Nitra, which organized the entire tournament, also commented on the situation.

"At the school tournament of the championship of the Nitra region in floorball for high school students, a regrettable event happened for all participants. The match between SŠŠ Nitra and Gymnasium Zlaté Moravce took place within the limits of the rules.

Nine seconds before the end, Adam Sýkora was grossly fouled during an offensive action, as a result of which he flew over the goalpost and ended up on the ground. The referee announced a foul. Adam got up and approached the player who fouled him and warned him verbally that it was really over the line, because he himself was in danger of getting hurt. Immediately the players of Moravia gathered around Adam. Our players, including Ondro, ran to them to defend Adam. The situation became confusing and turned into a mutual shove, which the organizers ended within twenty seconds.

Ondrej Molnár received the first blow in the face, his lip is torn. Ondro instinctively returned the blow, unfortunately with disproportionate force, causing injury to the opponent. He acted unintentionally, in the heat of battle and in a whipped atmosphere. He regretted his act and sincerely apologized.

The situation of our boys is all the more regrettable because they fought for the school.

We are sorry that falsehoods are being spread through social networks, which are damaging not only our school but also Slovak hockey."

He's 17... is that treated as a minor in Slovakia? Are we talking community service? Public apology? Prison? nothing at all as it was a highschool (or equivalent) fight?

I‘ll bet teams will actually love this about him. Standing up for a teammate and himself is the farthest thing from bullying.

Too bad the other kid got his jaw broke. Shit happens.

Yes, he is a minor, but responsible (14-18 yrs) for his behaviour according to Criminal Codex. So, he can get lower sanction according to Criminal Codex than adult.

According to statement of Police department, he is accused of two things/acts - sanctions are 6 months to 3 years in prison (one act), or 6 months to 10 yrs (second act) in prison. But, it is more complicated with criminal process, so do not take these sanctions as ultimate verdict. Important to note - resumption of innocence as a base principle of criminal law.

He was arrested by police, but released after a hearing.
