I like that Nitra is giving Molnar a chance and is preparing him before next season, which he should play regularly in the top 6. I am also glad that Dalibor Dvorsky is playing in Bystrice as well, even though he will go to Sweden next season. I think that this is exactly the way for Slovak clubs to raise nhl players. We saw it on Simon Nemec, last season he got a chance in a couple of matches, He got used to a bit of league, and speed and today in his D-1 season he is one of the best defenders of HK Nitra and he probably has a good future ahead of him.

I could see him pushing for a spot at the WJC with how good of a skater he is, but I think it’s unlikely that any 2005 borns are brought outside of Dvorsky. He can sometimes try a little too much when getting the puck out of his own zone but his skating and puck handling ability usually makes up for that. He reminds me a lot of Nik Ehlers. I’m sure scouts will have plenty to see him this year in Nitra when watching Nemec.

Will he stay in Nitra? I think, he has talent, but to play low minutes in our top league isnt the right deal for him. Sweden, Finland?

He already said that in interview ... He wants to stay in Nitra and CHL in his draft year. And why not? 3rd line + 2nd PP unit perhaps... Ideal for him.

His production so far has been good, but not great. I think he could benefit a lot from a move to the CHL next season. I still expect him to push hard for a spot at WJC
Nitra today has 4 prospects for the 2023 draft. Molnar, Ridzon, Zold and also Pekarcik (riser, before this season he was a noname for me, but the boy has really great playmaking skills and movement better than Zold). It is clear that all 4 will not stay in Nitra. I see that 2 or 3 will go the way of CHL and Molnar could really fit OHL.

I hate to say it, but Ondrej's season is quite disappointing at the moment. He was excellent at the HGC, but then came satisfaction and stagnation. Recently in the U18 national tournament, instead of being the leader, he played average, sometimes below average. Nothing worked out for him and he was selfish, he didn't play team at all, he was frustrated. In the Slovak Junior League, his productivity is also average. I expected more from him, but the potential is still there, but the first half of the season is really weak from him. Today, he is certainly not an adept at the first round, but rather a middle-rounder. We'll see what the rest of the season would be like.

Despite he isn´t scoring many points and his season seems disappointed statistically, everytime when I see him playing he passes my eye test. He has all the tools for being a physical speedy goal-scoring winger, potential is definitely there.

Although I´m not always a fan of an European player going to overseas in this case I hope for it. Molnar´s playing style is suited so well for NA rinks and I think he could be excellent in CHL next season. 1st round potential is surely still there although he is typical example of boom-or-bust player.

I agree, his upside is with the top 12-15 players in the draft. He has all the tools, the only thing can be his focus sometimes and he loses his cool when he’s not playing well. Still, watching him at HGC, I think he was just as good as guys who were there and are projected as first rounders this year. It’s a shame we aren’t in the top u18 div, but he should still be fun to watch in Div1

Agree. I kinda think he could be very good in upcoming U18 championship, unfortunately only Div1. I wouldn´t be surprised if he ends in MVP conversation of this tournament because I feel he deserves more from this season, he plays better than his numbers suggest.

I think he’s been our best player thus far, and he hasn’t even played as well as he could. I still believe he is a top 2 rounds player for the draft, first round not sure. He would have to beat out a lot of good players for that. Still if you put him in the top 6 of Canadas team his stats and overall performance would look much better

From the bit I have seen this week at hlinka, CHL would be the best move for this kid. Ton of skill but he is super raw. Don’t think he will get much ice in the slovak pro league nor do i necessarily think it would be the smartest call given the state of his overall game. Best for development to come to the O imo.
