F Nate Danielson - Brandon Wheat Kings, WHL (2023, 9th, DET)

Was pounding the O9.5 line on him. Thry moved it to O10.5 a few days ago. Still pounding it. Think that's free money, anyone seeing something I'm missing?

I thought the same as you, that was my main bet but thankfully I had some smaller bets that all seemed to win, like Reinbacher.

I watched the scouting report video on this kid. Seems like a player that's cool, calm, collective. Has a good level head. Leadership qualities. Fast skater. Wicked precision shot. Slick hands. Needs to get stronger and work on lateral movement.

This kid is an NHL player that will help the team win cups. Teams that win, win by committee... and win cups. Wings core is looking pretty solid. Larkin, Kasper, Danielson, Soderblom looks pretty sick down the middle.

I was looking at the draft spot over / under on bet365 and I think I may have found a lock here.

They have Danielson at the 9.5 spot.

He is 1.71 for the over and 2.00 for the under.

I can’t see a way that he gets picked in the top 9 in this years draft for the under. Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Michkov, Smith Leonard I think are all 100% locks to go in the top 9. That just leaves 3 more players to be selected before Danielson.

I feel like Danielson is a very safe bet and I can see him as a good NHL player but I see a bunch of players with much better upside than him in the draft.

Am I wrong here? Just checking the general consensus before I drop money on it.
I went down with that ship too.

rip monies

Yeah. I think Yzerman wanted Reinbacher and for his backup plan I thought he could want another Center and suspected it could be between Danielson and Honzek. Congrats for getting it right though. Yzerman isn't always easy to predict:laugh:

It was reported at the draft that Detroit was very interested in Leonard. One pick before Detroit.

I’m pretty happy with Danielson. He was a tie for 3rd guy I wanted Detroit to get. Leonard and Reinbacher were 1 and 2.

I think every team from 5 to 9 was super high on Leonard or so it sounded like

I probably would’ve taken Dvorsky over him but those were the two that made the most sense there. People just don’t watch. They really don’t.

Same here. Ok, but not overly excited about Danielson, because this just seems Kasper's mold, but more raw/less polished. Feeling Dvorsky has a higher chance at 1C. Would have preferred us to gamble a little bit, kind of like what we did with ASP pick.

EDIT: would have liked Wood as well. Some warts, but huge potential.

To be fair, Kasper and Danielson play the game differently from one another and with that, the latter's skills and sturdiness at his position I think gives him sneaky good value that I put above Kasper long term.

I think SY/scouts wanted a solid high potential C (right handed too which they sorely lack) in case they find Kasper long term is a better fit at LW. Even at that I won't be complaining, I just hope they pan out. Things are looking nice for sure though.

P.s. Wood's a great player as well. Nashville got a real beaut there, though I'm not sure he's a center at the NHL level. Potential to be the best NHLer to come through the BCHL since Jamie Benn.

I´m super high on Yzerman and before the draft I was super high on Danielson and what´s happened? Yzerman picked Danielson, of course. This kid has written good NHLer all over him, congrats Wings fans. Absolutely worthy top 10 pick in my eyes and I mentioned that here a few days before the draft he´ll go higher than expected because real scouts know...

How was he at dev camp
There actually wasnt a whole lot that really came out about development camp for the wings.

From the Athletic "showed many of the attributes that made him such a high priority target for the red wings"

"His skating is the bedrock of his game but Danielson showed he could use both skill moves and power moves to get to the scoring areas"

"He was noticeable all morning and looks like a truly complete player"

I watched the semis and finals of the 3 on 3 tournament on youtube and he was noticeable in a really good way.
