This kid would go #2 in last years draft. I'm already accepting the Hawks won't win back to back lotteries. I kind of hope San Jose gets him because they truly deserve a franchise player.
Eh, the stole a top 100 player of all time in Thornton so they e at least is that.

Whos the best franchise player Columbus has ever had that stuck around for a while? Nash? Werenski?

Columbus needs some serious luck this season

Or the Habs, Rangers, Devils, etc. All these teams that were given 1st OA shouldnt get another one in such a short time period.

Agree id like to see San Jose get him.

Habs want a refund on the 1OV. We probably got one of the worst first overall in the last 10 years. Habs have been looking for the #1 CENTER for the last 20 years.

Our last PPG player has Alex Kovalev (for one season)...... Hope Habs or Columbus win the first overall pick.

What do you have against first overall prospects from Vancouver ;) This is two years in a row now.
I didn't have anything against Bedard, I've been a huge fan for years. I just never had him in the Crosby / McDavid tier. During the end of last year, I predicted Bedard would be a 40+40 player right off the bat, with a 60+60 ceiling. That initial prediction seems pretty reasonable based on what we've seen thus far.

I even went as far as to say he could be the NHL's all time leading goal scorer when he retires, assuming he can stay healthy.

If that's being "against" a player then I guess I was against him?

Wouldn't it be plausible then from your own words if by the end of his career Bedard is the NHL's all time leading goal scorer that he would then be considered in the same tier as Crosby/McDavid? They could both have more total points then him but hey goals are the sexiest!
They would all be HOF'ers as well and at that point we're splitting hairs.

Not necessarily. Ovechkin is challenging to hit that mark and he's pretty clearly not on the same level as Crosby and McDavid.

Toews was a complete 200 foot player (which hurt his stats) so I disagree. We don't see eye to eye on this one, TLEH.
Toews captained three Stanley cup winning teams in six years at just around a PPG as one of the league's top, let's say, 3 two way centers. He was a monster... Big, fast, smart, skilled. If Celebrini gets anywhere near Toews at his peak, it's an incredibly successful career for him. Hard to say that Celebrini already has or will have better anything than him... Obviously he's a very high end talent and I'm hoping he does hit his potential (for my team 🙃).

Really hope he doesn’t become a hawk
But ... like .. we really want him to be a Hawk!
The league is a good place when all original six have competitive teams!
So come on Montreal and Chicago and sure ... Detroit maybe too!
I can see the goal song for Celebrini in Chicago now! Cool and the gang is back!

He’s gonna make a great Blackhawk
I honestly totally understand your confidence. Two lottery wins already since your dynasty ended. It is lucky for the rest of us that the highest chance you can get is 25% or whatever it is these days but I still have that sense of impending doom.

Two Vancouver born superstars resurrecting the Blackhawks would be quintissential Canucks.

His stock sure has risen. It wasn't too long ago, posters had him behind <IIRC> McKenna and Misa.

Very happy for you, but actually, not really happy for you at all.
