I honestly totally understand your confidence. Two lottery wins already since your dynasty ended. It is lucky for the rest of us that the highest chance you can get is 25% or whatever it is these days but I still have that sense of impending doom.

Two Vancouver born superstars resurrecting the Blackhawks would be quintissential Canucks.

Quintessential is a good word but I was thinking "glorious" - as in it would be glorious drafting Celebrini the year after drafting Bedard. Although it could cause quite a conundrum - does Celebrini play on the same line as Bedard or should they be split onto different lines? Hmmm ... I'll have to ponder that for a while.

Yeah, ideally they're on different lines and together on the PP but once we have a few more reinforcements this will be the case I'm sure.

Well no matter what, the odds won’t be good at all. Even finishing last, doesn’t give that team particularly good odds.

Bedard-Celebrini-Moore would be a nice 1-2-3 punch down the middle. You could construct a pretty nice rebuild around that.

I would put him second or third. He is at the same level as Fantilli last year, even though he is smaller, 8 months younger and has a much better IQ. He's Mackinnon 2.0.

He has the ability to become a really strong two way force. Great stick and anticipation, plus he's strong on the puck. Quick enough to match up with anyone.

Not the most dominant offensive showing but he stood out, and the coaches could probably put him in more of a position to succeed.

i agree. I didn't understand why the fourth line winger.
He has to be at least a second-line winger or a third-line center.

I think that’s fair. I think he’s in the same tier as Fantilli and Carlsson.

I like his game more than Fantilli but I think Fantilli would be safer because of size and speed.

I’d personally keep Bedard and Michkov ahead.

But it’s splitting hairs imo. All excellent prospects.

I'm not a huge Matthew Wood fan as his game doesn't really translate into top line NHL winger for me.

That's great on paper but if they all reach their potential Moore as a 3rd line center would be a waste IMO.

Moore has to improve his offensive game to be top-6 material and probably the main improvement required is the most difficult thing to get better at - his offensive instincts and/or IQ. He's blazing fast and has a relentless motor but finding and using his linemates is not a strong suit right now.

I'd be happy if he becomes a very good 3rd liner and PK'er - both things he's already capable of doing. Put him together with Martin Misiak and Nick Lardis in a couple years and that would be a blazingly fast forechecking weapon.

He’s not overly flashy, but he’s very smart, skilled and effective. Very little wasted movement, beats guys with quick moves/decisions at just the right time.

Hockey IQ, skating, hands, shot, compete, defensive play, athleticism, all legitimately excellent. Good strength and physicality too. No one skill is otherworldly, but he’s very, very good at almost everything.

Yeah it was Latvia, but a goal and 4 assists is still a terrific performance for a 17 year old, deserved to be named player of the game for Canada. Scored a goal and was very good against Finland too. He won’t put up a Bedard level tourney, but it’ll be an excellent tourney for a 17 year old, he’s clearly one of Canada’s best players.

He can take over the game with the puck on his stick, but he can take over games without it as well, with his defensive awareness, strong positioning, effort level, and skating. His talent stands out clearly at this level, despite being the youngest player. He's a player that can be a foundational piece for a franchise. Slam dunk 1OA pick.

Kid just gets it. One of the better 200ft 17 year old players I can remember watching. That doesn't happen by accident, to get that good before your draft takes a ton of both natural talent and work ethic to get the smaller details right.

Have liked basically all aspects of his game but in particular I love the way he plays in traffic. Picks pucks out of opponents skates and then creates space for himself to work with. Always has his head up. Stuff like that is so so so important at the NHL level. With Bedard the skill and flash just blows you away but I actually might say that Celebrini is ahead of him at the same age as far as projecting as a well rounded NHL player. You win with centers like this.
