...buuut the skating concerns are legitimate, there's a reason he nearly fell to the 6th round and it isn't simply because he's short.

He has big upside but he's a long shot to just make it.

He'll be fun to track for sure.

As for Poirier, I don’t think he makes it, so therefore, imo, his ceiling is below NHL level. It’s possible he doesn’t even stick at the AHL level.

While I love the pick let’s pump the brakes, see if he can create separation at the NHL level given his speed. He might have to change his game a bit.

No, they aren’t. He’s a small offensive winger who lacks acceleration, power, and speed in his skating. Name one NHL player who fits that profile. The concerns are completely justified, considering his size and the type of player he is.

Besides, that isn’t even the only concern with him. His shot is good, but not elite. And he does absolutely nothing else well aside from score at the junior level. He’s pretty much as one dimensional as it gets. Considering the obstacles he’s going to have to overcome to be able to play his style of game at the pro level, combined with his available tools, I’d say the odds of him being successful in the NHL are quite long.
