He started making some nice plays in game 3. First two games he was lost. He needs to get enough confidence to beat guys 1 on 1. That's what he's really good at.
He practically didn’t touch the puck in those 2 games so It’s hard to do anything. In game 3, like you said he was able to have puck touches and make plays and also PP time.He started making some nice plays in game 3. First two games he was lost. Last change vs no last change. Hard to get going when opposing coach is matching Ovechkin against you in your second/third NHL games. Which led to Marty simply playing his line less.He started making some nice plays in game 3. First two games he was lost. He needs to get enough confidence to beat guys 1 on 1. From that paragraph it sounds like the kid coming from Russia is doing pretty damn good right off the batHe played 2 games in the regular season. He was great in the first game and so-so in the second one. He has then had 2 decent to bad playoff games and 1 pretty good playoff game. The hype was out of control and that's all some people are calling out (other than the one guy I agree is trippin).
He likes ovi so he gave him a three game headstart. He'd give Malkin four though.HE"S GOOD AGAIN
Nice timing. He does well with the puck on his stick, but he’s struggling to get the puck very often and doesn’t seem to have the skating ability to force turnovers or the hockey iq to anticipate the plays quick enough. Michkov also is missing the explosive skating, but his iq makes up for it in a way that we haven’t seen yet with Ivan.
His space creating issues aren’t fixed because he made one nice play on the power play where space is far more abundant. Was not super noticeable at even strength imo.Nice timing.
Agreed. Looks great on the PP seems like at 5v5 he struggles due to skating, the quick decisions required to develop chances with less space .His space creating issues aren’t fixed because he made one nice play on the power play where space is far more abundant. Was not super noticeable at even strength imo.
I’m not worried about him.His space creating issues aren’t fixed because he made one nice play on the power play where space is far more abundant. Was not super noticeable at even strength imo.
Neither am I has awesome skill set. All he really has to do is start moving his feet with the puck instead of train tracking so much and he’ll be a star. Should be pretty easy to fix at only 19.I’m not worried about him.
Some more appropriate linemates than Evans and Newhook should help his even strength production.Neither am I has awesome skill set. All he really has to do is start moving his feet with the puck instead of train tracking so much and he’ll be a star. Should be pretty easy to fix at only 19.
Habs/Leafs games are gonna be fun next season. He was fun to watch tonight.
I wish he was in a different division![]()
I'm thinking once he's on a line that can cycle and sustain offensive zone pressure he'll be pure magic. I really hope the team can find a 2nd line center this summer. He obviously needs better linemates on 5vs5, I doubt Montreal has any proper top6 players save the 1st line and Demidov. The situation is kinda similar to what Michkov had on the Flyers.
The difference is Flyers had even fewer top6 players so Michkov sometimes played with TK and Couts, and on Montreal the 1st line is set in stone so Demidov needs his own 2nd line which the team doesn't have. Let's see what its management is gonna do this offseason.
