HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

Any chance Hensler decommit from Wisconsin.....so that when we pick it, I look forward to see him play....

16. Hensler/Smith
17. Carbonneau/Bear/Lakovic
41. Paupanekis/Gard
49. Genborg/Vansaghi

So far this would be my pre combine wish list at our first 4 picks. This would check a lot of boxes for me, Top 4 D, Top 6 winger, Big potential top 6 C, Bottom 6 heavy crash and banger, all have good size.

Don't care if he's a lefty...Jackson Smith will be special. He finished the year insanely good. People underestimate his stats not understanding how Tri-City was bad offensively this year. The Smith of the start of the year and mid-year has nothing to do with the Smith that finished the year. top 10 talent all year long. If he falls to us, you take him.

Kashawn Aitcheson looks like a better version of Jacob Trouba. (He have some Subban, Kronwall in him aswell). I would not be surprise if he be a top 10 selection, he is a unicorn. Have everything to become impact player at NHL level. I'm a huge fan of him.

If he is still there, I would 100% pick him with the #16.

This guy is a animal and we need to acquire that type of players.

Nick Suzuki isn’t a 6’4 winger. Completely different roles and responsibilities.

Suzuki also didn’t have a season long suspension as baggage.

It wasn't a whole season just the rest of the season. They were suspended in February.

Lankovic was 16 at the time and WHL said it wasn't criminal in nature. G.M & coach were also suspended 5 games.

Still, I agree it's a black mark against him. Montreal probably doesn't draft him based on that suspension.

No concern about being the oldest player of the draft?

As you said, he was 16 and that wasnt criminal as far as we know, so this isnt a Trevor Connelly or even a Logan Mailloux situation.

If the kid matured, has now the right mindset, I dont see why the Habs would pass on a kid with such upside. But I guess the interview will determine if he is a legit option or not.

Yeah, it's going to come down to the interview for sure.

16, on the road, likely doing something dumb that involved alcohol.

I like Smith at 16 also and I don't think its impossible that he slips. LHD and small wingers... they tend to be great value in these kind of drafts... He's got great mobility

I don't think. The style of Kashawn Aitcheson will translate to NHL easily. I don't really put attention on his stats for his age. He will be a physical beast, will play with a high energy level. That's all his high qualities. But he have great offensive tools in bonus. I don't think he will be put high production, but he will show much more in his game than just production. That's why I'm very high on him.

If he continue to progress, he will be a total force.

From my viewings, I agree. But I doubt he drops below 10OA. Like every year I believe Dmen will be in demand. That being said Buium and Dickinson dropped to 11/12 last year whereas I had them top 5.
