Just purely stat watching. They don’t seem to pop. Any write up on him?
He was buried on a star filled team. This is what yours truly wrote up in my rankings

One of the biggest sleepers of the draft. I went to the CHL Top Prospects game excited to see Bedard, but Sawchyn stole the show. I checked HF on my phone and was shocked to see no talk about him, he was ranked to go in one of the later rounds at the time but it seems more people are catching on. One of the flashiest players in the draft, ridiculous puck skills paired with elite hockey sense & a strong 200 foot game. Flew under the radar on one of the most stacked teams in CHL history. Also boasts a mind-blowing 3.64 BF%. This guy is a throwback to the bodybuilders of the 80's, you'd see this guy on Muscle Beach with no shirt on enjoying a non-alcoholic beverage with a couple Spanish women. Not sure if he always maintains such a staggering body fat percentage but that's the kind of work ethic he puts in before a big event like the combine, he means business.

Yet the NHL teams seem to agree with me
How? He was lower on your list than he was drafted, so I’m guessing if you’d picked from the top of your list, you wouldn’t have actually drafted Sawchyn before maybe 150.

He was playing on a junior team with SIXTEEN! drafted players, and a high scoring older undrafted midget. Buried up to his ears. Will be interesting to see how he does next season..when he's only buried up to his waist. At least he's surrounded by a lot of guys he can learn from. It's practically the usdp.

The lowest player in my top 75 was Minnetian that went 125 so I guess.

I'm just saying he was more of a 3rd-5th type for me, tons of posters here had him top 20 and it seems NHL teams had him more in the 50-100 range judging by the results today.

I'd be hoping for a middle 6 wing out of Sawchyn that can use his hands to create offence, but I have my doubts. We'll see how it plays out. I don't doubt he'll produce well next year in the dub. I do think the NHL will be a rude awakening for him.

Not exactly an explosive year so far, I'm interested in Sawchyn as EP was very high on him at #13 and he ended up slipping almost to the early third round.

Why didn't he stick with the USNTDP? I guess now he could in theory represent Canada at the next world juniors yes? Because previous to this season EP had him listed as Canadian/American, now purely Canadian.

People said at the time there was an error made and he was unable to obtain US citizenship or something like that.
